Let man but accumulate sufficient engines of destruction and the devil within him will soon be unable to resist putting them to their fated use. It is well known that firearms go off of themselves if only enough of them are together. (CW 10 §163)
Man häufe nur das entsprechende Material auf, und es wird sich unfehlbar des Teuflischen im Menschen bemächtigen und mit ihm los marschieren. Die Gewehre gehen bekanntlich von selber los, wenn genügend viel beisammen sind. (GW 10 §163)

=== Basic Jung === Jung's Structure of the Psyche We will be looking at how the basic structures, the complex and archetype, take on various roles within the conscious and unconscious (personal and collective) of the individual.
Fundamentals of Analytical Psychology Lecture John Hill, MA Tuesday 27.02. 19:00-20:45
=== Basic Jung === Perceiving the Archetype through the Complex The complex is the vehicle by which the archetype is transformed, making the unconscious conscious. We will be looking at this ‘complex’ relationship.
Fundamentals of Analytical Psychology Lecture Kathrin Asper, Dr. phil. Wednesday 28.02. 17:00-18:45
=== Basic Jung === The Ego in Analytical Psychology Is there only our ego or are there more? The lecture looks at different aspects of the ego: the subjective ego, the structural ego, the developmental ego and the cosmogonic ego. Lecture with examples from the therapeutic practice.
Fundamentals of Analytical Psychology Lecture Urs H. Mehlin, Prof. Dr. phil. Wednesday 28.02. 19:00-20:45
=== Basic Jung === Persona: Aspects of an Underestimated Archetype Appearances, self-portrayal and behavioural patterns of individuals and groups will be presented under consideration of: beauty, fashion, shame and self-doubt.
Fundamentals of Analytical Psychology Lecture Isabelle Meier, Dr. phil. Thursday 01.03. 17:00-18:45

10 Frühling 2018 Spring
Fundamentals of Analytical Psychology Lecture Brigitte Egger, Dr. sc. nat. ETH Thursday 01.03. 19:00-20:45
=== Basic Jung === Shadow: Dirt or Fertilizer? Everything substantial casts a shadow. The psychological shadow is what a person or a culture has no wish to be, what feels unpleasant, worthless, primitive. Ego and Shadow stand to each other like light and darkness. The less conscious we are or want to be, the darker the shadow becomes and the more it develops its own life and opens a door to evil. But to look consciously at the shadow doubles the view we have of ourselves and of the world, and may allow us to turn dirt into fertilizer.
Individuation Process Lecture Murray Stein, PhD Friday 02.03. 17:00-18:45
=== Basic Jung === Individuation We will be investigating individuation, a process which seeks to move ego-consciousness out of and beyond its established personal traits and habits and its culture-bound attitudes into a much wider horizon of self-understanding and wholeness.
Fundamentals of Analytical Psychology Lecture Deborah Egger-Biniores, MSW Friday 02.03. 19:00-20:45
=== Basic Jung === Anima & Animus: Historical, but still useful? The Anima and Animus were central concepts in Jung's original theory, representing the contra-sexual attitudes in the individual. But given changes in society since his time, are they still relevant in our time, and if so how?
Comparison of Psychodynamic Concepts Lecture Jody Schlatter, MD Tuesday 06.03. 10:00-11:45
The Fish that Stopped the Ship: An Introduction to Jung's Theory of Neurosis How can a small fish stop a ship? What can this mean when interpreted psychologically? Lecture to the seminar of the same name. This lecture examines two historical synchronistic events mentioned by Jung in Aion.
Fundamentals of Analytical Psychology Lecture Allan Guggenbühl, Prof. Dr. phil.
Thursday 08.03. 15:00-16:45
Conflict Management, Counselling, Crisis Intervention: Jungian Based Programs Outside of the Therapeutic Community Jungian Psychology offers a lot of ingenious ideas on how to work in schools, in conflict management and counselling. The lecturer will present his approach and the experience in developing and implementing programs in the education services, the trains and police.

12 Frühling 2018 Spring
Fundamentals of Analytical Psychology Lecture Francisco Garcia, M.Ed. Thursday 15.03. 10:00-11:45
Imagination: The Creativity of Soul We possess within us a sublime force of immeasurable power, which when handled unconsciously is often detrimental to us. If on the contrary we direct it in a conscious and creative manner, it gives us the mastery of ourselves. Sadly, the vast majority do not fully understand the creative role it plays in everyone's life. The force of which I speak is the power of imagination - the creative spark within us, which I refer to as the seeing power of Soul.

vorgezogen. Viele Lehrpersonen und Eltern sind
ratlos, reagieren betroffen und verunsichert. Im
Referat wird auf die tiefere Bedeutung der
Jugendphase eingegangen. Es wird reflektiert,
welche archetypische Rolle Jugendliche inszenieren,

Individuation Process Lecture Robert Ingram, PhD Thursday 24.05. 13:00-16:45
=== Interlude === The Remembering Song: Memory, Music, Melancholy An exploration of the interrelated subjects of memory, melancholy and music, and their interweaving in melancholy music. Focus: Remembering and recovering of the lost or forgotten treasures buried in the field of psyche's depths, considering how melancholy music - valuable, yet neglected - may serve to recall what is easily forgotten, what Jung referred to as his "utmost task," to remind humanity "that man has a soul and there is a treasure hidden in the field." Melancholy music, the memory music of the soul, is an invaluable and much needed Remembering Song.
Religion & Psychology Lecture Thomas Arzt, PhD Murray Stein, PhD Friday 25.05. 10:00-11:45 25.05. 13:00-14:45
=== Interlude === Jung's Red Book for Our Time: Searching for Soul under Postmodern Conditions The "Postmodern Condition" is described by terms such as relativism, complexity, ambiguity and radical plurality. There is a lack of firm ground for "world view" and incredulity toward metanarratives. In contrast, C. G. Jung’s Red Book and his concept of individuation offer a framework for an "individual" narrative and guidelines for the establishment of a "personal myth."
