It is an open problem to classify the rigid simplicial complexes, thatis, simplicial complexes ∆ with the property that theStanley-Reisner ring K [∆] is rigid.
From Lecture 3 we know that K [∆] is rigid if and only ifT 1(K [∆]) = 0.
Since T 1(K [∆]) is Zn-graded, it follows that T 1(K [∆]) = 0 if and
