DMS Office Program

LCR Host DMS Delivery LCP File Server

The LectroCount DMS is a “Data Management System.”Using recorded data from a metering system, the DMSreceives, organizes and manipulates the data intovaluable operational and accounting applications.

The system consists of a hardware component and fivefunction specific software applications. The DMS Module, the hardware component, serves as the interfacebetween the printer, power supply, DMS Lap Pad, andLectroCount registers. The software components of DMSinclude: DMS Menu, LCR Host, DMS Delivery, LCP FileServer, and DMS Office Program.

This publication covers the DMS Menu and DMSDeliveryapplications only.

DMS Menu: Allows the operator to switch between LCRHost, DMS Delivery, and LCP File Server. DMS Menucan also transfer transactions to the office computerand receive information from the office computer.

DMS Menu instructions begin on page 11.

LCR Host: Enables the operator to setup an LCRNetwork, calibrate a LectroCount electronic registerand meter, and make deliveries.

LCR Host instructions are in the LectroCount DMSSetup and Operation Manual: EM200-11.

DMS Delivery: Enables the operator to select customersfrom a customized list, make deliveries, record andtrack deliveries, review shift information, and transmitcompleted delivery information to the DMS OfficeProgram using a USB flash memory device.

DMS Delivery instructions begins on page 19.

LCP File Server: Allows access to files from the DMS

Module via other computer systems in a mannersimilar to that of Windows® Explorer. Files on otherdevices that are running LCP File Server are alsoaccessible.

LCP File Server instructions are in the LectroCountDMS Setup and Operation Manual: EM200-11.

DMS Office Program: This Windows® program runs onthe office PC. It is used to configure the DMS Deliveryapplication and customize delivery tickets. It alsoformats the data files between the back DMS Officeprogram and the DMS Module.

DMS Office Program instructions are in the OfficeInstallation & Operation Manual: EM200-13

Introduction

A vehicle delivery system typically includes the followingcomponents:

Metering SystemThe metering system is typically mounted to the backor side of a delivery vehicle to measure the productbeing delivered. Components of this system caninclude the meter, electronic register, strainer, aireliminator, and control valve.

DMS ModuleThe DMS Module provides connections for theprinter, the DMS Lap Pad, electronic registers, anda USB flash memory device. It is powered by thevehicle’s battery and accessory circuit. It can bemounted to support brackets in the cab of the vehicle. These support brackets are supplied with each unit.

DMS Lap PadThe DMS Lap Pad is the user interface device. It isused for initial set up, calibration of the system, datacollection and delivery execution.

Printer The printer prints out a record of the delivery. This

ticket is typically a multi-layer ticket so one copy maybe left with the customer and one retained for physicalrecord of the delivery.

LC software is copyright protected and may not be duplicated underany circumstances without authorization from Liquid Controls. Be sureto review the software license agreement on page 3.

Field Edit and List Box WindowsEditable fields come in two different forms: a field editwindow and a list box window. Field edit windows appearabove the function commands (line 8) and can cover halfof the display. List box windows also appear above thefunction commands (line 8), but they can cover the entiredisplay depending on the size of the list. Both fields aretitled in the upper left corner of the field and surroundedby a border. In the example to the upper left, the fieldedit window title is Network Name. CLEAR erases all characters in a field edit window

ESC backs out of the window without making changes

ENTER accepts the characters inside the field edit window

Home (F1) sends the pointer to the first item in the list

PgUp (F2) and PgDn (F4) scrolls forward or backward throughthe list by full screens

Find (F3) opens a field edit window into which parameters can beentered for a search

Select PresetThe Select Preset screen allows you to stop the nextdelivery at a predetermined amount of product or finalprice.

PRODUCT CODEOpens a list box window (SP:1) of product descriptionsand their corresponding code numbers.

PRESET TYPEOpens a list box window with these options:

Clear: This option clears the preset value after each delivery. The operator must enter a preset amount prior to eachdelivery.

Multiple: This option pauses the delivery when the presetvalue is reached. The delivery can then be started againusing the same preset value. It will continue to pause eachtime the preset value is reached until PRINT/END ispressed and the delivery is completed. When the deliveryis completed, the preset amount will clear. If the No-FlowTimer times out during a pause, the delivery will end and aticket will print out.

Inventory: This option is similar to the Multiple option withthe exception that the preset value is not reset after thefirst pause. This option is typically used to monitor theinventory on the delivery vehicle.

Retain: This option is just like the Clear option, except thepreset value is not cleared. The retain value will reflect thelast programmed preset value. If a Gross preset is set to“100” gallons, it will reset to “100” gallons at the end ofeach delivery, until it is changed by the operator.

NETOpens a field edit window where you can enter a presetdelivery based on net volume. If the preset delivery is atemperature compensated delivery, set your preset valuewith this option.

Net and Gross are only displayed if enabled by LCRHost. The volume delivered with a Price preset may not translate into

the exact amount, but it will never exceed it. For instance, if apreset of “200.00” is entered and the price per unit volume is“1.27”, the gross volume delivery is $200.00 ÷ $1.27 =157.48031. If the decimal setting is whole, a delivery of 157 x$1.27 = $199.39 and a delivery of 158 x $1.27 = $200.66. DMSwill take the price under $200.00.

Ticket FieldsThe ticket to the left shows the default layout of a deliveryticket. Ticket layouts can be significantly altered with theDMS Office program using the Ticket ConfigurationModule (TCM).

Each delivery ticket is made up of three parts. The firstpart of the ticket (above the first dashed line) is printedby DMS Delivery. It includes a header and the accountinformation for the delivery.

The second part (between the first and second dashedline) is printed by the LCR device at the completion of itsdelivery.

The third part (the remainder of the ticker) is printed byDMS Delivery after the LCR device is finished. It containsinformation generated by DMS Delivery based on deliveryinformation and selected options.

A field’s value will only show on the ticket if it is greaterthan 0. For example, if Tax rate 3 through Tax rate 20 areset to 0, they will not appear on the delivery ticket.

The same is true for the bottom third of the ticket. Forexample, if no information is available for PREVIOUSBALANCE or the footer text lines, they will not be printed.

Ticket AddendumWhen a delivery is complete, an addendum can beprinted with or without the ticket header. An addendumis typically printed when you enter a percent full valuefor the tank or a payment is received.

The ticket below shows a ticket addendum with the ticketheader information. If the addendum ticket is printed withthe header information, a new REFERENCE number, different than the delivery REFERENCE number, will beassigned.

If the ticket addendum does not require a separateheader, printing a duplicate ticket will print duplicates ofthe information contained in both tickets. The result is acombined, single ticket, which may look like the ticketshown to the right.
