Welcome to Leatherhead Golf Club and thank you for taking the time to view our membership brochure. Leatherhead Golf Club, which celebrated its centenary in 2003, is an easy walking parkland golf course situated in the heart of the Surrey countryside, yet easily accessible from all directions from the M25 and the A3. The Golf Course, which over the years has been used as a venue for many amateur and professional competitions, has always proved a test for golfers of all standards. The course design provides an enjoyable golfing challenge in its Par 4’s and Par 5’s, however, playing the Par 3’s well, will be the key to the success of your round. Leatherhead Golf Club is renowned for its extensive competition calendar. There are competitions virtually every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the playing season, some of which are free to enter and have a prize fund provided by the Club. These competitions are not compulsory but do afford the more competitive golfer the opportunity to test him or herself. In addition, we are active in a number of County interclub leagues and knockouts and also participate in a number of socially friendly fixtures. A highlight of the golfing calendar is the mixed matches, both within the Club and against other clubs in Surrey. To help you get started, we will appoint one of the professional staff to assist you in entering competitions and answering any questions you may have. They will also try and play one of your first competition rounds with you, or get one of our committee members to play with you, to introduce members to yourself in particular and also to help you feel at ease. We have a number of categories of membership. We offer the traditional seven and five day (midweek) options and a seven day restricted membership, aimed at those who wish to join an established club but do not necessarily want to fully commit in their first year of membership. We actively encourage junior members and also offer two intermediate options as a half way house between junior and full adult membership Members are represented in the management of the Club through the Members Management Committee. Member’s competitive golf is organized by the Club professional who meets regularly with the Captains and Vice Captains of the Club in the Golf Liaison Group. Member communications are primarily through the members section of our website which offers a wealth of information about golf and social activities within the Club. Belonging to the Club is not exclusively about golf. Most members relax after a game in the lounge bar or in the summer months on the patio and enjoy a drink and something from the menu. As a member you will receive a Club Card which is your Membership Card and has a number of uses. It enables you to enter competitions via the clubhouse terminals, enter your score on completion of your round and you can use it to make a purchase in the clubhouse where it attracts discounts of up to 30% on published prices for food and drinks.

Category Descriptions 7 Day Full – Unrestricted membership with use of the golf course at any time inside or outside of competitions – Members may bring up to 3 guests outside of a competition and one guest in a week-end competition after 10:00 in Summer and 11:00 in Winter. Members may NOT bring a guest in a Mid-Week competition. 7 Day Restricted – Unrestricted weekday golf including competitions – Weekends restricted to play outside of competition times – Members may bring up to 3 guests. Members may NOT bring a guest in a Mid-Week competition. Family – Includes two adults. Restrictions applicable as per the relevant category of membership chosen. Adults must live at the same address. If you wish to add children, there is a cost of £100.00 per child. The levy unless specified will be shared over all of the cards.

5 Day – Unrestricted Membership with use of the golf course at any time inside or outside of competitions Monday to Friday only. Members may bring up to 3 guests. Members may NOT bring a guest in a Mid-Week competition. Juniors – Must be Under 18 on 1st January. Juniors have their own competitive calendar and pre-arranged competition times. Category 1 + 2 golfers (12 handicap or below) may play in adult competitions. Unrestricted outside of adult competitions. Club Card – The Club Card entitles you to discounts behind the bar of 10% on drinks, 20% on food and 30% on wine. The card may also be used in the shop as well as for booking competition tee times and entering your score after a completion of a competition round. Competition winnings are also paid to the card. EGU / CGU – Fees payable to the English & County Golf Unions. These fees help support all regional and national events as well as the handicapping organization CONGU and junior development.

How to Join 1. Complete the enclosed Application Form and return it to the Club. 2. Decide your preferred method of payment, either single payment or deferred payment by direct debit, (see below). If you choose direct debit your completed bank mandate must accompany your application for you to be considered for membership. 3. Your completed Application Form will be put before the next meeting of the Golf Liaison Group and when approved an invoice will be issued to you 4. Upon payment you will receive your club card, diary, club bag tag and access password to the Members website. 5. You will be contacted about playing a round with an established member of the Club. We Endeavour to ensure that this is played at a time convenient to you.

Payment Methods We have two methods of payments at Leatherhead Golf Club:

1. Single Payment – A one off payment can be made by cheque, cash, debit card or credit card. (Payment by credit card attracts a processing fee)

2. Deferred Payment – For example on joining in January, following your initial payment of 1 month

subscription, club card and golf union fees, the remainder of the subscription may be paid using our credit scheme over an 8 Month period.
