Our sessions are experiential, inclusive and collections focused.

DISCOVERING JUDAISM

Discovering Judaism is a series of interactive and multi-sensory workshops designed to encourage pupils to learn about the vibrancy of Jewish religion and culture today. Students will explore Judaism through key objects, contemporary films and guided discussions to understand what it means to be Jewish in Britain today.

Bring contemporary Judaism to your classroom with our Object Loan Boxes for Key Stages 3, 4 & 5. Through authentic objects and online curriculum based activities spark your students’ curiosity on Jewish beliefs in practice, lifecycle events and festivals. Each box comes with teachers notes, activity ideas and exclusive online content to enhance students learning. Our Object Loan Boxes have 6 topics and are available to book for a Half Term.

Costs to book a Loan Box for a 1/2 term are £125 + courier (State Schools) /£175 + courier (Independent Schools). That’s less than £1 per week per student based on a class of 30 booking for a half a term.*

DIVERSITY IN THE COMMUNITY Our Diversity in the Community programme is designed to engage students with the variety of experiences within the Jewish community. This series of workshops explores topics of migration and belonging, faith and identity, and religion and culture. Through structured discussions and by looking closely at artefacts from our collection, students are able to reflect on the diversity and intersectionality of Jewish identity in both a historical and contemporary context.

Explore the migration of the Sephardi community to Britain and learn more about the story of one family. INVESTIGATING THE HOLOCAUSTOur varied range of workshops offers an insightful and thought-provoking approach to the Holocaust for students to build on their prior knowledge and understanding. Sessions are supported by looking closely at artefacts from our collection which stimulate deeper thinking and discussion. The museum also provides the opportunity for students to hear the testimony of Holocaust survivors and refugees from Nazism. Our programmes place a strong emphasis on enhancing students’ thinking skills, enquiry, interpretation, analysis and moral development, and are delivered by nationally recognised experts in the field.
