Principal’s reportDear parents/carers,
I would like to start this newsletter with a huge thank you to our school community for your ongoing support in assisting us in keeping our whole community safe during the current COVID-19 outbreak.
I do understand how difficult these times are for everyone and appreciate the effort you are making in staying connected with the school, supporting your children to engage with their learning, either online or through the learning packs. Please know that it is greatly appreciated. I feel so very fortunate to have the team I lead and to have such a supportive community as we continue to work together during these challenging times.
At present, the advice from the Department of Education, guided by NSW Health remains the same as previously communicated:
• Online learning from home will continue for thenext 4 weeks.
• All parents/carers are strongly urged to keep theirchildren at home and participate in online learning.
• Schools will remain open for parents of essentialworkers who are required to send their children toschool, as they are unable to work from home andare required to attend work during this time.
Very minimal supervision will be provided for students who are required to attend school.
The school’s leadership team is currently investigating a number of different ways that will enhance how we can connect with our community and I will keep you informed as these plans develop.

Canteen/uniform shopUnfortunately, while we are in level 4 restrictions, the canteen and uniform shop will be closed, although you can still purchase uniforms if needed. Just send in a uniform order with the item, size and correct money in an envelope and one of our office ladies can place the order for you and inform you when the order is ready for pick up.
Take care and stay safe!

lllnessPlease be reminded that students are
not to attend school if they are unwell – even with the mildest of symptoms.
Any student with any COVID-19 symptoms will be sent home and cannot return to school unless they have a negative
COVID-19 test result and are symptom free.
In circumstances where students have other medical reasons for recurrent symptoms,
a letter from their GP is sufficient to negate the requirement for a negative test.
Learning from home parent/carer surveyI would like to encourage you all to complete the learning from home survey that was published on the smartphone communication apps on Friday 30 July.
The information obtained from this survey will inform us of any adjustments that may need to be made to our online learning platforms or the learning packs.
Communication with the school
Our main channel of communication with parents and carers is via
smarthphone apps.
For any individual inquiries please phone or email the school and one
of our amazing office ladies will be able to assist you.

has had an enthusiastic approach to the STEM activities during their home learning. They have worked hard to create musical instruments and board games using recycled materials. We have enjoyed seeing their projects and are encouraging them to maintain their positive attitude towards home learning.
We are looking forward to seeing their next round of STEM projects.
What an amazing effort and
great work!

A message from our school captainsWe hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time. We understand that home learning can be challenging at times and it’s important that we all stick together. Taylor has been working at home like most of our school and has shared some great tips to help our fellow students keep their brains active and how to stay motivated to complete their work.
• To get myself motivated I go for a run each morning. It helps me wake up and it keeps me more focusedthroughout the day so I can get all my work done, it alsokeeps me fit and healthy which is very important duringthese crazy times! Any exercise is good, so make sureyou keep active!
• It is also nice to go outside on sunny days to do yourwork instead of staying inside the whole day.
• Try to keep in contact with your friends. I love talking withmy classmates and my teacher on the stream throughGoogle Classroom.
We all have to remember to stay safe and healthy and do the right thing so we can all see each other again, we can’t wait to see you all back at school happy and safe!

Wonder recycling program The Wonder Recycling program has officially come to an end.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the recycling program. We have reached the maximum points possible during the program hitting 2500 points. We have truly appreciated your ongoing support.
We are able to spend our points from 6 August onwards and are looking forward to adding some recycling sports equipment to our collection.
We wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without the support of our Bligh Park Public School community.
Thank you, SRC
