VISUAL RESEARCH

I used three angles to photograph the leaves: straight from above, from below and from the side. I picked these specific ones because of the nice contrast of col-ors (second row) and analogous color scheme in the first and third row. These colors play nicely with the crispness and curvatures.

DRAWING & ANALYSIS

I chose to explore these two leaves be-cause of the way the curves, wrinkles and veins create a nice contrast with the tex-ture of the leaf. The angles chose are from below for both, because the crispness of the color and sharpness of the curves are more prominent.

3 I explored many different approaches by combining shapes and lines, shapes and dots or lines and dots. The words I kept in mind were: contrast, dramatic, curvy and balanced.

IDEATION & PROCESS

The final design I chose employs repeti-tion and progression to reflect balance and contrast. The dramatic attribute is described through the use of curvy lines along with shapes. There is a progression in the size of the shapes and the space in between elements. On the other hand the repetition is seen in the use of shapes.
