Description

Arcadia have developed stages, sculptures and shows, ranging from 50 tonne fire breathing mechanical spiders to amphibious mobile stages. The duo will discuss their story from their humble anarchic beginnings through to their prestigious award winning work at Glastonbury Festival.

The Ambient Revival, moderated by Boiler Room's Joe Muggs, will detail the way ambient and immersive music has infiltrated into the most unlikely parts of the current electronic landscape, from the grime scene to the fine art world.

A presentation and discussion from Will Kennard (one half of Chase & Status) and brother Charlie, co-founder of ELAM (East London Arts and Music), the new government-funded school for modern electronic music.

A Short Film About Chilling is a documentary first screened on Channel 4 to coincide with soundtrack, Ibiza 90. A snapshot of the Balearic Ibiza clubbing and chilling scene before it exploded into the mainstream.

Laura Jones, leading house and techno DJ, will talk in detail about her flourishing career despite a degenerative eyesight condition, how she's trained her mind to deal with the emotional implications of this, showing what the power of positive thinking can do when facing huge obstacles.

In the early 90s, London defined the global techno scene in part thanks to the varying work of Steve Bicknell & Sheree Rashit and “Evil” Eddie Richards across events / agency / and their own DJ sets. In 2015, LEAF analyses the state of the techno scene in the capital with a focus on the Past, Present & Future.

Modeselektor and 808 State’s Graham Massey will share the stage in addition to their live performances on Friday night, discussing their career paths, influences and everything that has lead them to this point.

DJ Harvey will be interviewed by Rob da Bank – expect a no holds barred, frank and enlightening conversation by two of the scene’s most influential players.

Wapping RoomThe Wapping Room plays host to a wide range of fantastic talks beginning with an insight on the insanity of the Arcadia spectacular and finishing with a fire side chat with Rob da Bank and Harvey

LEAF Concert Great Gallery

The spirit of LEAF is truly captured in the headline concert, ranging from Kate Simko's London Electronic Orchestra with her all-embracing, multi-disciplinary approach to composition to Manchester sounds of 808 State, and headlined by the wildly diverse Modeslektor; Infused with exuberance and punctuated by a slap of the absurd, their inarguable grooves seem to emanate from every conceivable genre.

Modeselektor’s inarguable grooves seem to hop past every conceivable musical genre. With a rare London performance the German duo will showcase why they have always been prized as more of a live act than studio musicians. With showmanship and charisma in their blood, their live performances are dynamic, uplifting and always goes on twists and turns.

British house music pioneers 808 State will be performing their classic album Ninety in its entirety, marking the 25 year anniversary of a record that helped lay the foundations of the 90s electronic revolution. Graham Massey from 808 commented "I think that ‘Ninety's future facing optimism survives... we are happy that LEAF are giving us the 'Classic Album' slot as a chance to see if it does!'

Kate Simko and her London Electronic Orchestra are opening the show but this is one act not to miss. Offering a truly modern and contemporary twist on classical music, by fusing an orchestra with an electronically lead soundscape. The experience will show how electronic music can be composed in more classical forms, and how the two scenes are rooted in similar melodic roots, that complement so well with the right direction.
