Lead a winning teamThe finance function is very well regarded within Eversheds Sutherland, and the Commercial Finance team particularly so.

As Commercial Finance Director you will be accountable for all aspects of our commercial performance. You will lead a well-respected team to support the senior leadership team and the wider partners group, driving improvements in all aspects of commercial performance, whether on pricing, leverage, working capital, etc., through to business cases for strategic lateral hires and acquisitions in support of our strategic ambitions.

Working as a key member of the Finance Leadership team, you will be responsible leading a global team of 50 across a range of disciplines from working capital management and business performance to profitability, strategic decisions and investments. In this role, you will be accountable for supporting the Senior Leadership team on all aspects of in-year commercial performance, preparation of and evaluation of strategic investments/acquisitions, the annual budget, and for driving the financial three-year strategic plan.

With a concentration of people in London, Leeds and Cardiff, Middle East, Asia and other European locations this is a critical role operating at the heart of the business.

Who you will be working with

Julian Lee

Julian is our Chief Finance Officer leading finance for Eversheds Sutherland (International). Julian is a member of the Executive team and works alongside Keith Froud our CEO, and the Firms Executive Partner responsible for clients.

In addition to responsibility for finance, Julian is increasingly taking a lead role on transformation across the Firm. This includes the implementation of new Practice Management System, but also working with other Business Service leads to transform back office support Firmwide.

Julian joined Eversheds in 2012 and has since been appointed Chief Financial Officer.

Finance Business Partners/Working Capital Team

This role has a strong Finance Business Partnering and Working Capital Team aligned to each Practice Group and Region to support the Practice Group Heads and the Regional Managing Partners and their teams.

The finance team operate at the heart of the business and are valued members of the teams they support.

Practice Group Heads/Regional Managing Partners

The Practice Group Heads and Regional Managing Partners are responsible for running their respective businesses.

The Commercial Finance Director is responsible for the team that supports these key stakeholders to provide strong finance business partnering support to enable them to maximize their financial performance and to achieve their strategic plans.

Keith Froud

Based in London, Keith is the International Managing Partner of Eversheds Sutherland, with responsibility for our offices in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Keith is also a member of the Eversheds Sutherland Global Executive and Global Board.

Prior to this Keith was our International Head of Company Commercial and Corporate. He also led the development of our initiatives in Latin America.

In terms of his own practice, Keith specialises in M&A, stock exchange and public takeover work and has over 20 years’ experience in international M&A, acting for a variety of private and listed companies, primarily in Europe and the US.

The main purpose of the Commercial Finance Director is to lead a high performing team, partnering with Product Group Heads and other key stakeholders to strategically drive growth and profit.

To enable the CFO to take a lead role on the financial transformation of Business Services, working with Business Service Heads.
