38 Quality standards

Our idea of quality is based on a comprehensive look at the products, processes and the skills of our employees. Implementing this idea begins long before product development, it continues at our customers, and it never stops. The number

one goal is to consequently implement our all-encompassing zero error strategy. WIEPROcon-sulting, an in-house consulting team, supports us in keeping an eye on all elements of our value creation chain at all times. This includes

process controlling, optimization of manufacturing processes and systems as well as active inte-gration of our employees in the improvement processes. The resulting benefits are quickly reflected in measurable successes.

40 Innovation

Page 41: Leading Drive Solutions of the World - SEW-EURODRIVE

41

You can give people room for their ideas. Or you can build them a center

The innovative strength of drive technology has its own center: The Ernst Blickle Innovation Center (EBIC) in Bruchsal. State-of-the-art workplaces and an open architecture form the basis for creative work and the development

of new ideas. The number one priority is the freedom and the personal responsibility of our employees. Our focus is always on the goals of our customers and the market requirements of the future. This creates trendsetting solutions

that bring our customers success and set standards in drive technology. The result are clear competitive edges – for our customers and for us.

Page 42: Leading Drive Solutions of the World - SEW-EURODRIVE

42 Worldwide availability

It does not matter to us where you are. But what you need when

Reliable delivery is one of our basic principles and thus a crucial strategic success factor of SEW-EURODRIVE. Supply net management is the key – a global information network that helps us plan and coordinate the flow of products. The basis for this is a system that ensures an

extremely high number of variants and fastest delivery: Once the order has been placed, the basic in-stock components of the modular SEW-EURODRIVE system are sent directly to one of our worldwide assembly plants that is close to the customer. There, the final products

are assembled according to local requirements and delivered within a very short time. Even delivery commitments of a couple of hours only are not a state of emergency for us, but merely routine business.

44 Sustainability

Where we assume responsibility towards future generations: In all of our decision-making processes

Page 45: Leading Drive Solutions of the World - SEW-EURODRIVE

45

For us, sustainability primarily means future viability, and thus a sustainable and constant development. This can be achieved by adapting fixed assets, products and services to suit the changing needs of markets and society. We

want to remain an attractive prospect for future generations of employees, to contribute to a healthy environment and to maintain the support of our customers, partners and subsidiaries. To do so, we will have to rise to the environmental,

economical and ethical challenges of the future. Our goal in all this is to keep business, ecology and social responsibility in the balance.
