FOR OVER 80 YEARS, THE WISCONSIN ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL COUNCILS HAS BEEN TRAINING STUDENT LEADERS

— OUR PROGRAMS ARE TIME-TESTED AND PROVEN TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

LEVEL 1: LEARN During the Level 1 experience,

students will participate in fun activities

focused on skills essential for the middle level

including: building self-esteem and self-

advocacy skills, learning what it means to be

a leader, and ways to create exciting and

interesting student activities. Students will

leave with better networking skills and

connections to leaders across the state.

LEVEL 4: DEVELOP A positive high school experience

hinges on developing essential

leadership skills. Level 4 curriculum is

high-energy and focused on developing

interpersonal skills, group processes,

communication skills, problem solving

techniques and planning/ evaluation

procedures.

LEVEL 2: ENGAGE Team building, goal setting,

communication, and organization are

key components to being an engaged leader.

Participants at this level will have the

opportunity to explore concepts of

leadership, improve their leadership skills in

an engaged way, learn tools to promote

positive mental health, and gain an

understanding of self and others.

LEVEL 5: EMPOWER Responsibilities continue to increase

for high school students. Student leaders

need the ability to adapt to a variety of

circumstances and be empowered to meet

demands of the group or task. The Level 5

curriculum examines what causes this

range of needs and gives participants the

skills to adapt and react to each.

LEVEL 3: ADVOCATE Entering high school confident and

ready is essential to student success.

The Level 3 curriculum combine

experiential learning with essential skill

development to ensure this success.

Students will learn valuable skills like self-

advocacy, communication, and goal

setting - in a creative and engaging way.

LEVEL 6: REACH This culminating program provides

opportunities to revisit all ten of our

leadership standards. Through numerous

interactive activities, delegates will

expand their individual reach to include

not only their school organizations, but

also their communities, and perhaps, the

world.

Camp Highlights

BANQUET: The delegates get dressed up for this special affair, where they dine in their finery while listening to inspiring speeches by their fellow delegates.

SPEAKING OPPORTUNITIES: There are numerous opportunities for students to work on their presentation skills — and one evening where individuals from each group are asked to address the entire delegation.

PICNIC: An outdoor event that includes games, food, and fun. A great way to connect with new friends at the mid-point of the week.

SUPER OLYMPICS: Get ready to have some fun! Small groups compete against each other in an evening of collaborative, team building activities.

.

DANCE: A high-point of the entire week, delegates enjoy an evening of celebration and dancing to close out their camp experience.

EVENING CLOSINGS: Each day ends with inspiring stories and songs — lead by adult and junior counselors. The perfect way to end each day.

“Our daughter had attended basketball and music camps in the past, but

neither gave her the confidence that WASC camp did. After camp, she

did better in school and improved her relationships with both her

friends and teachers. We are very grateful for this program.”

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS The WASC has been leading the way in leadership development essential to college and career readiness, both nationally and statewide for over 80 years. We continue to pursue research in these areas and place it at the foundation of all programming. College and career readiness is a priority statewide and is essential for student long term success.

WASC every summer. We hand-select each staff member

make a difference in the lives of our delegates.

Bachelors Degree Graduate Degree

Former delegates have: graduated from Ivy League Universities,

served in Congress, managed Fortune 500 companies, produced

Hollywood films, performed on Broadway, worked in the Peace Corp,

managed Presidential campaigns, fought for our country, worked in

television, taught high school, directed the Olympics, published

books... our delegates go on to make a difference. At camp. In

schools. In life.

"We have been sending student leaders to the WASC camps for about

15 years now. The years where we get a majority of our students to

attend, are years that are noticeably more vibrant and impactful. The

students come back knowing more about themselves as leaders and

ready to share their skills and their confidence with their student body.

I highly encourage you to send your students. It will change their

lives, and in return, change yours!"
