Cathy RussellIn the city of Cheverlie, Maryland,

Bartley & Francis Freer becameparents for the 3rd time to adaughter they named Cathy. Bartleywas a mechanic and Francis workedas a waitress at Howard Johnson’sand later on worked at MayfairGroceries.

Cathy attended school inMaryland thru the 4th grade. AfterGrades 3 & 4 during thesummertime, a wonderful tutorhelped Cathy with her speech. Thefamily then moved to Bakersfield,CA. Graduation from high schoolcame in 1967. In 10th thru 12thgrade, one of her favorite classes waschoir. They traveled around to other

schools to perform.At age 37 she attended college for

AA degree in sign language. Going intoher 3rd year of college she was hit by acar. She was like a vegetable for 1.5years. She needed help with feedings,exercise and dressing herself.

25 years after high school, Cathymarried her high school sweetheart(Ronald D. Russell). They had onedaughter named Amber Marie. Nowshe has 3 grandchildren.

During her life she had many jobs.Her favorite was at Colorado StateInstitution, working with people thatwere deaf and blind.

Some of her hobbies were churchvolunteer, PTA (popcorn mom), shot acap & ball pistol, made her ownbullets by melting lead and addinggunpowder to a mold, traveling allover by car, rebuilt a 1935 Ford andput in a beer keg for the gas tank inback of it. WOW, those are awesomehobbies. In Nov. 11, 2017 she came toOak Lane. She loves Bingo, shoppingand visiting with other residents.
