The power of coaching Have you already benefited from coaching? You may already be part of our successful peer coaching programme as a Subject Learning Coach (SLC) or Advanced Learning Coach (ALC). If so, join a summer network to practise your coaching skills and get the latest free resources. Also discover the many ways the programme can support you in your teaching and learning, to work collaboratively and confidently with peers in the quest for excellence and improvement. The day will typically include: Welcome: learning outcomes for the day Introduction to new teaching and learning resources: including a Customer care resource News time: sector, subject and national policy initiatives and their impact on you, and how the TLP can support you to meet these initiatives Networking and reflection: providing you with space and time to share experiences and reflect on your CPD Show and tell: sharing subject-based best practice from and with peers Tailored resources: developing and adapting subject-focused resources to support your CPD and to enhance learning experiences for your learners Evaluation: identifying how you can incorporate new methods into your every day practice and how you can contribute to the next network. *The LSIS SLC and STEM subject coaching networks focus on 12 priority subject areas: Adult learning, Business education, Creative and media, Construction and the built environment, Entry to Employment, IT, Land-based studies, Modern foreign languages, Society, health and development and the STEM subjects: Science, Engineering and Mathematics. A network for everyone Everyone from across the learning and skills sector is welcome. Whether you are from a work-based learning provider, college, prison, or adult and community learning you can find relevant resources and valuable ideas about your CPD. All provider events are for existing Subject Learning Coaches, Advanced Learning Coaches, colleagues considering becoming SLCs and anyone else interested in joining the programme. Participation in the subject coaching networks have been designed to contribute to the Institute for Learning’s (IfL’s) CPD requirement. What’s in a subject coaching network?
