A night better than a thousand months!
We hope that you have had a wonderful Ramadan with your family sofar, and that this pack will help you to make the most of the last 10days! We ask you to remember us, and the entire Muslim Ummah, inyour du'as.
Assalamu Alaykum!A message for you!
This Ramadan, the LSE Islamic Society are blessed to be partneringwith StudentsForSyria to raise money to support Syrian childrenimpacted by the conflict.
The fundraising project is Segarona Kebarona - a special needs centrelocated in Antakya, Turkey. It is a wonderful facility that providespsycho-social support for children suffering from trauma as a result ofthe civil war. The centre also supports children with specialeducational needs that require that extra support in theirdevelopment.
Often, when we conceptualise wars, we can be forgetful about thestruggle of those affected to resume normal life afterwards. This is anamazing project that helps tackle that to ensure the Syrian childrenare still able to lead happy, healthy lives in spite of thedevastating conflict.
This is a free resource, which we pray brings benefit to your family. However, we would really appreciate it if you could please donateanything within your capacity to help us fund the special needscentre, insha'Allah.
A message for grown ups!

It was narrated that Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي هللا عنه said: "The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said:
'There has come to you Ramadan, a blessed month, which Allah Almighty has enjoined you to fast. In it the gates of heavens are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and every devil is chained up. In it Allah has anight which is better than a thousand months; whoever isdeprived of its goodness is indeed deprived." (Sunan an-Nasai)
Ramadan is a very special time of the year for Muslims. This year, Ramadan might feel a bit different, but we thinkit might just be the best one ever!
Allah, Glorious and Exalted, has placed huge blessings inthis month for us all. The reward for each good action ismultiplied many times!
Ramadan is here!
B I S M I L L A H !
Laylatul Qadr is the 'night of power'. This was the night in which the Qur'anwas first revealed. We don't know exactlywhen this night was, however, the Prophet's ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص wife Sayyidah Aisha رضي هللا عنها told us that:
“Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nightsof the last ten days of Ramadan.’
Therefore, during the last 10 nights of Ramadan, Muslims should lookfor this night, and worship Allah as much as they can. The Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلصalso said:
“Whoever stands in (Prayer) in Laylatul-Qadr with faith and seekingreward then his previous sins are forgiven.”
This tells us about the huge blessings and reward that we can gain byworshipping Allah on this blessed night!
LSE ISoc brings you the 'Seeking Laylatul Qadr' activity pack, to helpyou make the best of these extra special nights. Each day, we havegiven you a task to complete, as well as daily reminders to help youwith worshipping and remembering Allah.
The last10 days
