1940s Maurice Wagner ’49 received the Tobias Simon Pro Bono Service Award from the Florida Supreme Court. He also was one of 20 lawyers to receive The Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award. 1950s Malcolm L. Stephens Jr. ’52 married Georganna Sutton on May 19, 2001. James E. Tribble ’57 is currently Of Counsel with the law firm of Collins & Truett, P.A. in Tallahassee. He specializes in civil appeals and has been re-certified by The Florida Bar in the area of appellate law. Robert E. Beach ’58, a Sixth Judicial Circuit senior circuit court judge, was the U.S. National Masters Swim Champion in four open water national championships ranging from one to six miles in the 70-74 age group. Last year, he traveled to Venezuela, Ecuador, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. He continues to serve as a senior circuit judge throughout Florida. 1960s Bob Anderson Mitcham ’62 has retired from the bench as a judge for Hillsborough County’s 13th Judicial Circuit. Judge Mitcham’s son Matt graduated from Stetson Law in June 2001, and he was able to swear him in as a member of The Florida Bar prior to stepping down from the bench. Robert E. Pyle ’62 has retired from the bench as a judge for the 10th Judicial Circuit. He is enjoying his leisure time, traveling and fishing. John R. Cappa Sr. ’63 is a board member for the Greater Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross. Paul Steinberg ’63 has changed the name of his law firm to Steinberg & Associates, P.A. His son Richard has joined the practice as an associate. Raphael Steinhardt ’63 received the 2002 Distinguished Alumnus Service Award from the Stetson Lawyers Association. Robert K. Downs ’65 has been elected third vice president of the Illinois State Bar Association and recently was installed at the organization’s annual meeting in Lake Geneva, Wis. He will serve as the president in three years. Downs is a partner with his wife in the Oak Park, Ill. law firm of Downs Law Offices, P.C., where he concentrates in family law litigation and mediation. T. Michael Foster ’65 is board- certified as a trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. J. He is with the Tampa law firm of Allen, Dell, Frank & Trinkle, P.A., and was elected to a two-year term as secretary of the American College of Construction Lawyers. He maintains an extensive litigation practice with a concentration in the area of construction and design law in both the public and private sectors. He has served as a member of The Florida Bar Board of Governors and is currently a member of The Florida Bar Board of Bar Examiners. Grandoff is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s largest complex case panel. Stephen deH Schwarz ’66 is board-certified in wills, trusts and estates by The Florida Bar. Judge Raphael Steinhardt ’63 received the

Distinguished Alumnus Award for outstanding service

to the legal profession and humanity. Judge

Judicial Circuit in Miami.

Cary Singletary ’73 received the Paul M. May

Meritorious Service Award for continuous support of

time and gifts to the College of Law. Singletary is a
