This year marks a milestone for us in the seed stock industry as we celebrate 30 years. Along the way we appreciate our family, friends, customers and the people that have made this lifestyle rewarding as we strive to produce the best we can. A huge thank you to our boys, Jared, Ryan and Travis who have their own endeavours but continue to help with the farm chores when they are able. As this winter has been a brutal Canadian weather challenge, it never ceases to amaze the vigor and adaptability our herd displays under trying conditions. The cattle we present to you today have been pasture raised without creep, showing us the maternal qualities of their dams. The mother cows are culled vigorously for feet, udder quality, performance and disposition. The females are the back bone of our herd and we are proud to have the quality which is in turn reflected in the bulls offered to you. All the bulls have been wintered together where they have been on an oat based ration, silage, chopped hay and a bull supplement to achieve ample grow without compromising future soundness. They are on a regular herd health program and by sale day will have received a foot rot vaccine that is proving to be of great value to our customers. All bulls on offer will have also passed a semen test and updated scrotal measurements and weights will be available sale.Once again we welcome Ric and Linda Arthurs as guest consigners. They consistently bring a tremendous set of bulls. Many thanks to the hours they contribute to our sale and also to Jack Hawkings, always a great help. As we often have many requests for replacement females, new this year we are offering some top quality open heifers that will work well in your program as their dams have in ours. As well, Ric and Linda have a set of commercial heifers that will be sold in small packages. Buy with confidence to replenish your herd with quality.The bulls and purebred heifers can be viewed at the farm located 5 miles east of the Didsbury overpass on Highway 582 until Thursday prior to the sale and then the Friday afternoon at the Olds Cow Palace. All bulls can be kept free of charge until May 1 and at cost of board thereafter. Buyers receive a $50.00 discount if purchases are taken home sale day, if they return to the farm they must be insured. Delivery may be made in April, but after May 1 they must be picked up by the purchaser.Join us for lunch sale day and some hospitality.
