Experience four amazing museums...
Fort Ligonier A formidable outpost during the French and Indian War, Fort Ligonier is a full-scale, on-site recon-struction where visitors may explore buildings, artillery batteries, wagons and cannons. Its museum showcases the spectacular George Washington
Collection, from his early years as a soldier and commander there, along with the highly-acclaimed exhibit, The World Ablaze: An Introduction to the Seven Years’ War.
Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art The picturesque Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley boasts rotating exhibitions of local, regional and national artists, and a permanent collection of more than 4,200 works by artists such as Thomas Hart Benton and Mary Cassatt. On permanent display is the impressive
Walter Carlyle Shaw Collection of paperweights, with nearly 200 paper-weights spanning 150 years.
The Westmoreland Museum of American Art Embarking on a bold new era, the recently renovated Westmoreland Museum of American Art features significant additions to its collections, and a dynamic new architectural design. Located in the heart of historic downtown Greensburg,
the museum encourages interaction with art through unique activities designed for all ages.
Antiochian Heritage Museum The Antiochian Heritage Museum presents the artistic, cultural and spiritual heritage of the Near East, Orthodox Christianity, and its roots in Antioch (Syria) and the Holy Land. Exhibits include the richly inlaid wood furniture of Damascus, colorful hand-embroidered textiles, antique religious icons, and a new interactive touchscreen display exploring the life of Saint Raphael of Brooklyn.
