What is my major project about?

For my major project I am making a 2D animation in adobe Flash on healthy eating.

What is the target audience?

The target audience is children aged from 4 to 8. This is an important age for children to learn about eating healthy .

What will people learn? The children will

learn that healthy eating has more advantages than eating junk food, that it makes you feel better about yourself and that its very important to have a balanced diet.

What I hope to achieve?

From my major project I hope to have children watch my animation and learn about eating properly so that they grow up knowing what a balanced diet is. If they do not learn about this at a young age it may be too late in the future.

What is healthy eating?

Healthy eating is getting the right balance between different food groups. You are supposed to have five fruit or vegetables a day. Healthy eating can reduce your chances of different illnesses later on in life.

Advantages of healthy eatingProper development of physical and mental

health.It will lead to a longer and fulfilling life.Healthy hair and skin.Maintained weight.A healthy diet puts you in a better mood.You will have more energy than you would

eating fatty foods.

Disadvantages of unhealthy eating

Children can suffer from stunned growth if they do not eat correctly.

A lot of children become obese due to eating the wrong foods.

Later in life you could run the risk of a stroke, heart problems and many more illnesses.

Why do children not get healthy food?There are many reasons why children do not eat healthy some of them are;•Parents ignore what their children's eating habits are.•Children look up to their parents a lot and copy what they eat.•There is not enough information on healthy foods and a balanced diet.•Advertisements on TV.

The affect of the media

The media and advertising can have a big effect on what children eat. If there are any cartoon characters on the packaging or a free toy inside, a child would choose it over something healthy.

Good media

Some celebrates have highlighted the issue of children eating such unhealthy foods by starting healthy eating campaigns. First lady Michelle Obama has the lets move campaign and Jamie Oliver has his school dinners campaign.
