Since 2014, NPower Canada has partnered with more than 135 employers to
launch bright, motivated and diverse young adults into digital careers
2017 Milestones and Achievements
Jan. 2017: Piloted new employer-driven Software Development and Testing program
stream, placing youth into programming, software development and QA roles.
Feb. 2017: Launched 1st cohort of Digital Customer Care program at MLSE LaunchPad, a
brand new youth community centre housing our 2nd downtown Toronto site.
Aug. 2017: Launched our 1st Peel Region cohort of 66 young adults at the Mississauga
Training Centre, our new program delivery site in Peel.
By the end of 2017:
➢Expanded from 2 to 4 program delivery sites in the GTA.
➢Served 443 young adults in 2017, up 132% from 191 youth in 2016.
➢Launched 2 new program streams achieving 80%+ job placement outcomes.
2017 Outcomes and Impact
➢443 young adults enrolled in NPower Canada programs across the GTA.
➢76% of enrollees successfully completed the NPower Canada program.
➢84% of NPower Canada graduates secured employment and/or enrolled in
postsecondary education within 6 months of program completion.
➢80%+ alumni remain employed 12, 24 and 36 months post-graduation.
➢The average NPower Canada enrollee entered the program with a household
size of 3.6 members and a before-tax annual household income of $32,897;
6 months later, newly employed NPower Canada graduates have earned an
average starting salary of $38,626, doubling their prior household incomes
and lifting themselves and their families out of poverty.

learn new technical and professional skills. Speak with our participants about tech topics
like app development, big data or cybersecurity. Or speak about professional development

Host a Site Tour: Invite our students to your workplace and provide them with invaluable
first-hand exposure to a professional IT work environment.
Speed Networking: Engage your team in rapid-fire, high-impact one-to-one networking
conversations with our students, hosted either at Ryerson or at your site.
