Service providers, colleges and local organizations that are responsive to students with disabilities will be represented. Parent and student mini sessions (English and Spanish) will be held on Guardianship, Navigating Services, Social Security and Vocational Rehabilitation. Please encourage parents of students with disabilities, teachers and related services staff to attend this event. EC teachers should use the attached parent letter and informational flyer to inform parents and students of the upcoming event. The Exceptional Children Department will host Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Twenty-First

Annual Post-Secondary Transition Fair at East Mecklenburg High School on Thursday, March

22, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The purpose of the Post-Secondary Transition Fair is to inform

parents, students and educators of the many services for persons with disabilities in

Mecklenburg County and North Carolina.

The Transition Fair will include:

● Approximately fifty agencies will display information and answer questions regarding

services available to students and adults with disabilities.

● A variety of schools and colleges will discuss post-secondary educational opportunities.

● Information sessions will be held on:

Social Security and Vocational Rehabilitation Services

6:00-6:30 hallway across from cafeteria

Guardianship and Navigating Services 6:30-7:00 hallway across from cafeteria

● Appetizers and desserts will be served.
