professional netw...No - please tell us why notnot too many people from cancunNot enough fundersunclear on how to do itI'm not sure how to use them to get workThey allow broad connection and a platform for advertising projects you are doing, but do not generate opportunitities.I would prefer to make them through more personal connections. Social networking is great to stay in touch but I wouldn't use it to contact someone I hadn't already been introduced to.

because estimate only using the service 1-2 times a year

The fine art industry is still largely a handshake sort of place. Opportunities mostly come from meeting people in person.

5-6$ per month

The current social networking sites does more or less the same so no need to pay for this kind of a service and may be in the near future all the points mentioned might get addressed professionally

10$per month

i don't have the budget 100make money by advertising

I find most such services available on other sites (e.g., Mandy.com) and I think social networks should, as a rule, be advertiser supported / free of charge for users since we're the ones providing the content.I feel like free services (though disparate) provide me with this information already. If I want to know, I can find it easily. My team is already well built.

The only site I have ever paid to use was IMDBpro. LinkedIn, Kickstarter, Facebook, are all free sites that have primarily kept me in contact with people I like to work with. Again it seems it would be worth paying if you were comfortable making connections with strangers through internet alone. I prefer to make connections through personal colleague and friend referrals then use the networking sites make the contact. I wouldn't contact someone because the came up in a network suggestion. i manage that myself

I do not need another tool to check and maintain.

22. Is there anything else you would like to tell us about the topics mentioned in this survey?

Text ResponseGood job!we need a local networkI have used Elance to find clients and am disappointed in how many of them ask for an incredible amount of work for very little compensation. I would like to see a system that connects creatives with clients who appreciate the importance of the product provided by the creative and compensate them accordingly.nonenoI don't think there's a dichotomy between picking the "best possible team for the job" and relying the "ease of existing relationships." I know in my case they're one and the same and I'd argue the same is true with most of my friends in the entertainment industry. It would be helpful to have a networking site made for professionals in the arts that had privacy settings like facebook. Not a free for all like Linkedin or Mandy. I wouldn't want to have to filter through a ton of people I don't know or being spammed by people who are unqualified. An example of this is a site like Model Mayhem. Anyone with a camera tries to make connections with other people and the legitimacy of the social networking site is taken down a notch. For a site like this to take off and be different I would hope it would have a sophisticated filtering system. Thanks!I do not know of anyone in the film industry that likes or uses LinkedIn. They have accounts but are not active. Everyone I know in the independent film world uses Facebook for networking and Twitter for casual contact.
