    This booklet is a comprehensive and detailed breakdown of all the awards and recognitions

    being offered by District 82 to its members, clubs and district officers. These awards have been

    curated to encourage and recognise the members, clubs and officers who achieve excellence

    during this Toastmaster year.

    Provided below is a log of the amendments made to this document since it’s initial publication.

    The allocated period for the 2020-2021 awards, is from 01st July 2020 to 30th April 2021. Any

    submission beyond 30th April 2021 will NOT be considered (except for a few special awards to

    be achieved after 30th April 2021)

    The submission cut-off date for the various awards vary, therefore, please review each

    awards’ requirement and submission guideline carefully to avoid disappointment.

    The following 2020 – 2021 District awards will be presented at Division Conference / Contests

    The following awards can be achieved by clubs after the indicated cut-off dates until the year

    end (30th June 2021) and will be recognised at the first Division Conference in 2021 (after

    Ovation 2021)

    All Hall of Fame awards that require information to be submitted to the Program Quality Team

    or PR Team can be done through the new D82 website and will be done electronically. Division

    and Area submissions will need to be done via email or through District Central, as necessary.

    All members who achieve educational awards (Pathways Level 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5) will be presented

    a Certificate of Appreciation with the corresponding TI Award Ribbon.

    Eligibility All members are encouraged to participate

    Award cut-off October 15th 2020, March 15th 2021

    Award presentation

    Educational Awards filed up to October 15th 2020 will be

    recognized at Division Conference in November, 2020.

    Awards filed between October 16th 2020 and March 15th 2021 will

    be recognized at the Division Contest in April, 2021

    This award will be presented to 03 individuals per division whose dedication, commitment,

    and efforts have significantly contributed towards achieving the district mission.

    Eligibility All members who are neither District Officers nor Extended team

    members.

    Cut-off date 15 days prior to respective Division Contests

    Coaches, and help the club to achieve Distinguished status and more than 7 DCP points

    • Club Coaches who have been appointed from 1st April 2020

    onward.

    This award will be presented to members who achieve the highest educational achievement in

    Toastmasters, namely the Distinguished Toastmaster.

    Eligibility Open to all members

    This award will be presented to Area Directors who accomplish the following:

    • Presidents Distinguished Area by 31st March 2021

    • Area Director Visit Reports to be filled as below:

    o Round #1 before 30th September 2020

    o Round #2 before 28th February 2021

    • All active clubs in the Area to have a minimum of 4 trained officers by August 31st, 2020

    and January 31st, 2021.

    • 80% retention of total area membership base (as of 30th June 2020) while achieving a

    net growth of 8% in membership payments

    Eligibility Open to all Area Directors

    Cut-off date 31st March 2021

    Award presentation Ovation 2021

    This award will be presented to Division Directors who accomplish the following:

    • President’s Distinguished Division by 31st March 2021

    • All Area Director Visit Report for clubs in the Division to be filed for:

    o Round #1 before 30th September 2020,

    o Round #2 before 28th February 2021

    • All active clubs in the Division should ensure a minimum of 4 trained officers by 31st

    August 2020 and 31st January 2021

    • Submission of COTP attendance to PQD by 31st July 2020 & 15th January 2021

    • Submission of supplementary (additional) OTP attendance (if any) by 31st August 2020

    and 15th February 2021

    • Minimum of 3 members from each club should participate in all TLI events per Term

    (TLI events considered for criteria are NMO, Mentoring /Meeting Roles, Pathways

    Evaluation)

    This award recognizes one member whose educational accomplishments, club service,

    dedication and enthusiasm are exceptional.

    Award Criteria: The form provided in the below link contains a suggested point system your

    club can use in selecting its Outstanding Toastmaster or Toastmaster of the Year. Complete

    This award recognises clubs who are able to attract at least 8 new members and retain 80% of

    their club members during the two periods indicated.

    Eight-80 award Term #1:

    a) New/Dual/Reinstated Member Registration Criteria - “Eight”

    Add Eight (8) new, dual, or reinstated members with a join date between 1st July 2020

    and 30th September 2020. (Club must have added and paid for all 8 new members with

    their membership starting on or before 30th September 2020)

    b) Member Retention Criteria - “80%”

    1) The Club must have completed the Renewal payments by 30th September 2020

    2) The club must have renewed for 80% or over of the existing membership

    present in the Membership Roster on 30th June 2020. Retention percentage of the

    club will be computed based on the data available on the TI dashboard/Membership

    roster on 30th September 2020 (i.e. Finalized Roster for the month of September

    2020 Vs Finalized Membership Roster for the month of June 2020).

    ▪ Clubs meeting the above two criteria (a & b) will be qualified for Term #1 of “Eight-80”

    Eight-80 award Term #2:

    The first 30 clubs to complete their April renewals up to the club's membership "To Date" count

    as of 30th November 2020 will receive this award. The "To Date" count can be found on your

    club dashboard page (dashboards.toastmasters.org).

    Clubs with less than 20 members, will need to reach 20 or more members during the renewal

    to receive the award. And all new members need to be added with a join date before 31st

    March 2021.

    the Phoenix Award if they achieve 7 or more DCP points and Distinguished status, thus

    rising from the ashes like a Phoenix.

    Eligibility • Only clubs that could NOT achieve “Distinguished Club” status

    by 30th June 2020 are eligible.

    • Clubs that achieve Golden Gavel award or Silver Eagle award

    will not be eligible for the Phoenix award.

    ▪ A new Toastmasters Club (chartered after the indicated date) will be eligible for the Rising

    Star Award if they achieve Distinguished status

    ▪ Clubs achieving all 3 membership building ribbons – Smedley Ribbon, Talk up

    Toastmasters, and Beat the Clock will be presented the Triple Star Award.

    ▪ For determining the Beat the Clock member addition, data will be computed from the

    District roster retrieved on 10th May 2021. For the other 2 Ribbons, the winners list

    published by TI will be considered.

    • Clubs that have all 7 club officers trained at the Club Officers Training program will be

    presented this award

    • Club officers who are not able to attend the OTP conducted for their Division, can attend

    quality member experiences and who encourage members to step outside their comfort zones

    to engage with the club members and district members, at large.

    ▪ When a club achieves 85 or more points in Club Quality Avenue, the club will be presented

    the Quality Club Award.

    ▪ Clubs receiving the Silver Eagle Award or Golden Gavel Award, will not be presented

    the Quality Club Award.

    • There should be an equal representation of role players & speakers from all the

    participating clubs.

    • First meeting should be conducted between July 1st and Nov 30th 2020; Second

    • Joint meetings cannot be combined with outdoor meetings or themed meetings

    • Evaluation: Meeting agenda, minutes of the meeting and 5 meeting photographs.

    • Submission to be done only by the hosting club. Points for the other club will be

    • The club will be awarded 5 points per renewal cycle, as per following:

    o If a club with a membership base (i.e. members as at 30th June 2020) of less

    than 20 members - reaches 20 renewals in both renewal cycles*

    o If a club with a membership base (i.e. members as at 30th June 2020) of more

    than 20 members - renews its membership base*

    • All renewals need to be completed for the two renewal cycles on or before 30th

    September 2020 and on or before 31st March 2021, respectively

    • Club will be awarded 5 additional points per renewal cycle if the club renews for base

    membership count + 5 members.

    • For both the renewals, the base membership is the count of the Member Base of the

    club which appears on the dash board.

    * Note:

    Clubs do not need to renew the same roster of members; they only need to match the

    number of members with the number of renewals for each cycle.

    Therefore, if a club has less than 20 members or knows that some members may not

    renew in the upcoming cycle, they can add/reinstate members (before 30th September 2020

    or 31st March 2021), so that the total number of renewals, by the cut-off dates, will meet the

    above-mentioned criteria
