LASER CUTTING & ENGRAVING WORK IN PROGRESS As we have received quite a few queries about the process of creating our products and a lot of our customers do not know much about laser cutting and engraving, we decided to give you a short demonstration of our product in making. We hope you will find it interesting. Personalised eclipse-‐shaped gift box is a great example of us combining laser technique with handmade finish. The box is made of multiple layers of 3mm plywood (painted in white) cut into eclipses. Quick part of the job done by laser machine. More difficult bit – gluing all elements together to receive two components -‐ plain bottom part and cover with engraved personalised message. It is a quite time consuming part that requires focus and precision but at the same time, very enjoyable for anyone who loves creating handmade products! STEP 1 First, our machine doing its part – cutting and engraving eclipse-‐shaped elements….
STEP 2 … after as little as 8 minutes we have 10 different elements ready…
STEP 3 …. now a though bit – gluing all elements together layer by layer…
…
STEP 4 … full attention and a good dose of patience and the bottom part is ready…
STEP 5 … same process with a cover….
STEP 6 … a bit of polishing and a stunning box is ready! MORE DETAILS: http://www.mydesignstation.co.uk
