Las Vegas All Stars 2016-2017 Competition Season

Thank you for your interest in our program! We are a new Competitive Cheer squad from Las Vegas, NV. We are extremely excited to compete in this 2016-2017 season and travel to nearby locations. We believe with the self-confidence your children will receive from being in such a sport that it will not only create respectable, amazing people but also help teach teamwork, accountability and hard work. We can only hope to instill good morals, good values and champion personalities in every child we come across. Why join our team? Competitive cheerleading will not only benefit your child’s health and physical being, but will tremendously help with their self-esteem and confidence. Your child will see what it feels like to be on stage and in front of hundreds of people on a monthly basis. This will benefit their overall outlook on themselves and life. Competitive cheerleading also teaches self-discipline and accountability.

Tryouts

*For the 2016-‐2017 Competition Season we are offering Levels 1-‐3 from ages ranging from 5-‐18!

*Everyone makes a team at Las Vegas All Stars! No experience is needed to be apart of team Intensity!

At tryouts each cheerleader will demonstrate their standing tumbling, running tumbling, jumps, dance and body positions (flyers only)

The teams will be chosen based on their performance at tryouts.

An active credit must remain on file for the entire season. This card will be charged for the expenses of the cheer season. The credit card will be charged on the schedule below.

TUITION Tuition is paid monthly per athlete. This includes all

practices and tumbling classes. • $135/month per athlete (June will be prorated)

o Credit Card on file will be charged on the 1st of every month

o If credit card is declined, 5 business days will be given to pay the required amount

§ A new active credit card must be placed on file at time of payment

o A late fee of $25 will be charged after the 5th

• Sibling Discounts – Tuition cost of $115 is available per child.

• Pay your monthly tuition fees up front and in full and receive 1 month of tuition for free!

• Pay Cheer Expenses up front and in full and receive free private lessons for 1

month!

• All travel expenses for out of state competitions are the responsibility of each family.

Lessons

Private Lessons are offered for a discounted price throughout the year based on

availability of the athlete and coach.

Account must be in good standing to schedule a private lesson.

Athlete/Parent Program Policies Rules and Regulations

• Challenging the coach or person in charge, by a team member or parent will be automatic dismissal. • Each team member must follow all rules given by coach or person in charge at all times.

• Bullying from a team member or a parent will not be tolerated and will be subject to dismissal.

• No unsupervised tumbling or stunting before, during or after practice on the premises. • No talking while a coach is talking/teaching, verbal warnings will be given followed by disciplinary action if

continued. • No smoking, drinking alcohol or drug use on the premises.

• Lying, stealing, foul language or any other negative form of behavior is grounds for dismissal.

• Team members need to adhere to dress code when coming to practice; o Team members must wear the practice clothes we purchased from OMNICHEER (when we receive them,

until then, other practice clothes are allowed) § No competitor gym clothing or accessories will be allowed

o Hair must be pulled back from face and tied up with a bow o NO JEWELRY o No bulky hair clips or headbands

• Do not bring NEGATIVITY to practice. Negative comments about our team, members, coaches or parents will not be tolerated and may be subject to suspension or dismissal.

• Each Cheerleader and Parent must realize the manner in which they conduct themselves while representing “LAS VEGAS ALL STARS INTENSITY,” directly reflects on the entire squad and coaches.

o While uniform or team colors are worn, you are representing Las Vegas All Stars, act appropriately. Practices LAS VEGAS ALL STARS’ wins and success is solely dependent on attendance. ALL PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY

• Each unexcused absence will result in disciplinary action. 3 unexcused absences will result in suspension or dismissal from the team.

o Excused absences are the following; § Vomiting § Fever § If your child is not sick enough to miss school, they should not miss practice.

o Non Excused absences are the following; § Sore Muscles, Cold, Cough, School activities (see below) etc.

• If you have an event at school, you may get permission to miss practice from your HEAD coach if asked 3 days in

advance and must have written documentation from school. (If no note is given to the Head coach, the missed

practice will be counted as an unexcused absence.) • 3 unexcused tardies will equal 1 unexcused absence. 9 unexcused tardies will result in suspension or dismissal.

• 100% attendance 2 weeks before a competition is MANDATORY. If you miss practice within these 2 weeks for any reason, you will be taken out of the competition.

Competitions Every Team Member is required to attend all competitions from start to finish, this means through the award ceremony. If a parent is unable to stay through the competition, they must make arrangements for child to stay through awards ceremony.

• Practice 2 weeks before a competition is MANDATORY. NO EXCUSES. o If a practice is missed within the 2 weeks before a competition without getting the coaches approval,

the child may be removed from the competition.

• Attendance is mandatory at all competitions. • Competition fees are non-refundable.

o Whether or not your child competes • Team member must be on time to the competition.

• Parents are encouraged to wear LAS VEGAS ALL STARS colors or premade shirts. (Black, Silver & Pink)

• Each child and parent is required to maintain good behavior and a level of respect towards all other teams. Derogatory statements or negative behavior made toward the competition or another team will not be tolerated. You may be asked to leave and subject to suspension or dismissal.

• Team member must stay with coach until they are dismissed.

• Missing a competition without prior approval will be grounds for dismissal. • Your child may be removed from a competition for any of the following reasons.

o Attendance, Finances, Injury or Attitude • Members need to be appropriately dressed at all competitions (when they arrive and during award ceremony.)

o Uniform Top/Bottom/Bow (warm ups worn or brought with) o LOGO SHIRT ON AT ALL TIMES o White “no show” socks o Competition Shoes o Hair and Makeup done according to coach’s previous directions. o NO JEWELRY o NO COLORED NAIL POLISH (FRENCH TIP (white, black, silver, pink) ONLY)

Safety

• We will provide the safest environment possible for all children; however All Star Cheerleading is a contact sport. With that being said, we nor the gym are responsible for any injury that your child may receive while in our care.

• No unsupervised tumbling or stunting before, during or after practice on premises. • No candy or gum allowed in gym at any time unless brought by the coaches as a reward for the team.

• Proper attire is mandatory.


Parent Expectations

• Challenging the coach or person in charge, by a parent will be automatic dismissal.

• Negative Behavior will not be tolerated.

• To make sure your child is on time and ready for practice on designated practice times. • Parents are to inform the coach if their child is going to be late or miss practice. Sometimes the children forget such

important information as this.

• Parents are to fulfill any financial obligations ON TIME or risk expulsion from our team.

• Parents are to support their children and their children’s goals.

• Parents are to hold children accountable for their actions. If there is an issue, encourage your child to talk to the coach, this only enforces and gives your child a sense of being heard and understood.

• Other arrangements need to be made if a parent cannot stay for the duration of the competition. • Support the rules and encourage your child to abide by them.

• Parents are to support our coaches. Our coaches have your child’s best interest and safety in mind at all times.

• Parents are to stay off the practice mat at ALL TIMES. Unless otherwise stated by the Head coach.

• There will be NO outbursts by the parents tolerated whatsoever. Grounds for dismissal.

• If a parent or child decides to leave the team for any reason before the season is over (May 20, 2017) the parent is responsible for paying a buyout fee of $500 and the remaining monthly tuition in full at time of departure.

Athlete Expectations

• I will be on time to practice and dressed appropriately. • I promise to give a 100% at every practice. • I will not say “I Can’t”. • I will do my personal best to achieve all my goals.

o Continual failure to be productive at practice will result in disciplinary action which is subject but not limited to suspension or dismissal.

• I am responsible for finding out any information I may have missed. o My parent is not responsible for any assignments my coach gives me.

• I will maintain the highest example of behavior. • I will respect each other’s personal space. • BULLYING (physical or verbal) will not be tolerated. • I will come to class ready to work and ready to listen to my coaches. • Each team member must be aware of the commitment he or she is giving to join a competitive team. • Each team member must be aware of the responsibilities he or she is taking on by joining a competitive team. • Each member must be willing to be cooperative and helpful to the coach or any person in charge at all times. • Each team member will be willing to work hard and give 100% at all times.
