These locations are often inaccessible to butt fusion machines due to limited space or difficult to move pipe. Plasson Large Bore Electrofusion fittings have been designed to simplify the task of jointing large bore PE pipes.
Plasson can also supply controllers and tooling that simplifies the process of scraping, re-rounding, clamping and welding large bore joints (see page 7).
We advise the selection of fusion equipment that will cope with the electrical requirements of these fittings.
All generators must be equipped with an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and must exceed the controller power demand which is dependent on the controller type.
*NOTE: 800mm fittings require 42V input for correct welding. 40V input required for fittings 450mm-710mm.

Saddles for Large Diameter Pipes
Plasson Saddles are designed according to the specific needs of the end users, keeping in mind the field conditions and limitations, ensuring a simple installation which will be safe and secure.
The multi-size saddles have a large fusion zone which exceeds the requirements of the various international standards resulting in considerably greater robustness and reliability of the fusion joint.
Plasson’s innovative clamping tool is designed in a way that guarantees the complete saddle welding surface is in direct contact with the pipe even when the pipe is oval.
Full bore outlet SDR11 - 90, 110, 125 and 160mmUniversal - two saddles cover the complete range of pipes from 250 to 800mm, with two options, spigot or flanged (NP10/16).

Flex Restraint
For applications where axial restraint of PE pipe is required
The restraint is a flexible bar, which is fused to the pipe by electrofusion to create a welded shoulder that can restrain the axial movement of pipes in various applications:
Anchoring the pipe to a concrete wall such as a manhole or tank.
Restraining the pipe to a gasket bell fitting to facilitate cross connection with other piping systems.

Scraper ChainSimple to use and consistent in results, the peel is continuous and progresses along the pipe end due to precision engineered components. Simple to assemble and self-setting to ensure a quality scrape. 250mm - 800mm.
Hydraulic Re-RounderLight and easy to use compared with others, simple adjustment, with hydraulic pump to apply the required pressure to remove ovality. 450mm - 800mm.
Saddle ClampTo suit the Plasson saddle range, one piece plates for spigot saddles or split plates for flanged and spigot types. Apply a consistentpressure over the whole saddle to ensure optimum weld. Simple to use with load indicator to show when tight. 250mm - 800mm.
Saddle Scraper 110V / CordlessSpecialist scrapers for weld-on branch saddles; high speed rotation of scraper blade removes a consistent layer through the use of guide rollers, simple to use but very effective. 250mm - 800mm.
Core CuttersSized to maximise the branch outlet hole through the wall of the main, with durable cutting tips and designed to retain thecoupon for extraction from the finished cut. For pipes with wall thickness SDR11 to SDR33.
