Seeing women, like the ones below, everyday on television can make other women feel like less than perfect. Therefore causing poor self-esteem and hundreds of women with eating disorders. EVEN CELEBRITIES FEEL PRESSURED TO BE SLIMMER. GRAPH SHOWING RESULTS IN ANOREXIC AND NORMAL MODELS Dieting consists of consuming the correct quantities of every food group. So why do so many people believe that dieting means barely eating? DIETING OR BARELY EATING, WHAT`S THE DIFFERENCE? WHAT IS ANOREXIA? Loss of bone density (causes dry brittle bones) Severe dehydration, growth of long hair in effort to keep body warm Muscle loss and weakness EFFECTS OF ANOREXIA WHAT IS BULIMIA? EFFECTS OF BULIMIA Maura`s eating disorder began in the 8 th grade after her mother passed. It got so terrible, she could barely walk from damaging an important nerve just by crossing her legs. She says not only was she starving herself, she was starving feelings of depression and abandonment and worthlessness. TRUE STORY: MAURA KELLY At the peak of her disorder, she was 511 and weighed 70 pounds. Even at this state, she was still insecure driven by early request by her agency to lose a couple pounds.
