Welcome to the new readers of this newsletter.

In our effort to be closer to our end customer, we have decided to send this Lapauw News from now on, not only to our distribu-tors but also to the (potential) users of our machines.

The Lapauw HotStream tunnel finisher line is well reputed for the excellent finish it delivers. Thanks to the narrow dry chamber, the HotStream provides a finish that is beyond compari-son with the standard tunnel finisher types you find on today’s market.

Today, however, we see the market for garment finishing growing and next to higher demands in quality, laundries see their production soaring. This prompted Lapauw to develop the latest addition and largest HotStream up until now : The DUO T6.

With 12 dry-chambers, containing 24 fans that displace 48.000 m³/hour of hot air, the DUO T6 HotStream is capable to process up to a staggering 2000 garments per hour*. The 12 dry chambers are arranged back to back, in rows of 6, minimizing the footprint of the machine.

Thanks to the open system, the DUO T6 can be combined with every garment conveyor and transportation system, and the new SIEMENS control system is also part of the standard equipment.

The DUO T6 is available as a gas- and steam heated version.

Our Thai based dealer exists for over 30 years now and is led by Mr. Mongkol Thaweesup, Mr. Nithusana Ghimruksa and Mr. Mongkol’s daughter Mrs. Wimoljana Thaweesup. Constant product innovation :

One of the main points where money can be saved or won, is machine efficiency. The gas heated ironer is not only a Lapauw development, today, the TurboFAN is up to 20% more efficient than any same size gas ironer in the market. And the DUO T6 HotStream enables laundries to provide high

quality (profitable) work in massive quanities.

Low maintenance machines :

Lapauw has always taken special care to the mechanical construction of its machines, which reduces down times and keeps maintenance costs to a minimum. For example, the ironers use a propeller shaft, which requires far less care than a belt driven system. And the bearings on the washer-extractors are mounted outside and away from the outer drum, making them less susceptible to water contamination

from any eventual leakage.

Open Spare Part philosophy :

Last but not least, Lapauw maintains an “open spare parts philosophy”. Spare parts can be extremely expensive, especially when they are shielded and can be purchased from the machine manufacturer only.

Lapauw provides full transparency, giving the customer the freedom to buy his spare parts where he gets the best conditions. Nevertheless, we maintain an elaborate stock of the most common spare

parts.

Dekeukelaere nv is a Belgian based laundry with a production of about 25 tons per day. As one of the main activities of Dekeukelaere nv is hospitality linen, the demands for quality are high.

So, when deciding on a new ironing line, speed and quality were key words and the laundry soon found out that the 2-roll 1600 TurboFAN fits these requirements like a glove.

As the ironer processes a wide variety linen, the ironer’s microprocessor control allows creation of different ironing programs and adopt the ironing conditions (like temperature and speed) to the characteristics of the linen. Because the microprocessor communicates flawlessly with the decentralized feeder and folder, automation is driven to the maximum.

But what really caught the attention of Mr. Dekeukelaere, the laundry’s Managing Director, were the ironing speeds : Sheets pass at a speed of over 50 m/min, regardless of the size (the ironer processes everything from single person sheets in 2 lanes up to King size in single lane), while duvet covers are processed at speeds between 32 and 34 m/min. All this at a constant ironing temperature of 185°C and with a finish that has the “thumbs up” from the hotel managers.

Needless to say that the 1600 TurboFAN promptly received a “thumbs up” from Mr. Dekeukelaere.

TurboFAN patentis a milestoneLapauw proudly announces that it has ob-tained a patent for its innovative TurboFAN technology. The revolutionary TurboFAN technology is the latest in gas ironer developments and increases the ironer’s efficiency with up to 20%, compared to similar size non-Turbo-FAN gas ironers.

The 2-roll, Ø1200 and 2-roll, Ø1600 gas hea-ted ironer are already updated to TurboFAN standard. The patent opens the way for Lapauw to unleash the full potential of the TurboFAN technology and integrate it into other mo-dels of its gas ironer range as well, making the Lapauw gas heated ironer range the most efficient on today’s market.
