Petra Vandewouer woont al jaren in de Drôme Provençale, waar ze inspiratie opdoet voor lekkere mediterrane gerechten. Met heerlijk verse pro-ducten van de streek creëert ze onweerstaanbare recepten als een slaatje van pompoen en pancetta, poonfilet met pastinaakpuree en parfait glacé met pistaches en meringue.

Petra Vandewouer is al jaren een vaste waarde op de Vlaamse televisie. Een whoopie is geen koekje, geen cake en geen hamburger, maar het heeft wel iets van alle drie. Een zacht bollende, gladde boven- en onderkant, die bij de eerste beet licht krokant lijkt maar binnenin heerlijk zacht blijkt, met een smeuïge vulling tussen… Whoopies zijn een hype in de VS en Engeland en werden door de New York Times uitgeroepen tot ‘lekkernij van het jaar’. Brenda Keirsebilck vertrok van de klassieke whoopie, maar gaf er een eigen twist aan door met verschillende vullingen met choco-lade, cuberdons, Luikse siroop, advocaat, gele pudding enzovoort te experimenteren. Met zinnenprikkelende beelden van fotografe en bakfanate Karen Van Winkel.
Als klein meisje was Brenda Keirsebilck al verzot op bakken. Na een carrière in de reclamesector volgde ze een bakkersopleiding en ze runt nu al enkele jaren Juliette’s Artisanale Koekenbakkerij in Brugge.
