Accessories are tested in extreme hot and cold temperatures to ensure they will perform in all conditions, year round.

Corrosion resistance testing ensures accessories can withstand demanding climates such as coastal conditions, while a series of tests ensures seamless integration with your Land Rover’s existing safety features.

Bespoke testing ensures that accessories are put through their paces in a series of tests that suit their design, function and the materials from which they’re made. Exterior accessory testing, for example, includes:

– Exposure to up to two years of direct sunlight known as ‘Florida Weathering’.

– Heat Ageing Test for 500 hours.

– Extreme Heat Test ranging from –40°C to 80°C.

– Heat Shock Testing during which parts are cooled to –40°C for 16 hours, then heated to 70°C for 5 minutes.

– Humidity Resistance Test where accessories are subjected to 168 hours at 48°C in 95–100% humidity.

– Accelerated Environmental Cycle Testing comprising a relentless barrage of salt, dirt and dust to simulate real world driving.

CONNECTIVITYChoose from two great in-car phone charging devices to ensure that you’re never out of touch while on the road. Designed to keep your device visible while it charges, each of these chargers fits neatly into the cup holder space in the centre console of the Discovery.

Wireless Phone Charging CupholderThe wireless phone charging cupholder has been designed to charge utilising the cup holder space in the centre console. The holder will accommodate varying phone sizes securely in place. The charger displays an LED light to indicate when charging, and turns off when complete. Fits phones up to 72mm wide.

iPhone Connect and Charge DockThe iPhone connect and charge dock has been designed to charge utilising the cup holder space in the central console. When connected, the iPhone's media is accessible and has the ability to be controlled via the integrated infotainment/audio system. The 'cut-out' design of the holder is such that the home button is also accessible for use when parked. The iPhone USB charger can be easily disconnected if the USB connection is required for other use.

Portable Rinse SystemDesigned to be used outside the vehicle, the portable rinse system provides a convenient solution for washing pets before loading or rinsing down other equipment from bikes to wetsuits. Depending on the setting selected, this portable rinse system will deliver a minimum of two minutes of continuous water flow through a shower hose style attachment. The side steps are sensitive to obstructions. Automatic mode can be overridden to allow access to the roof when the doors are closed.

A holder and ratchet function ensure bicycles are safely secured.

Universal Lift and Load SystemThis roof loading aid fixes to the garage roof and allows equipment to be lifted on to the vehicle with ease. It can also be used for storing the roof box conveniently when removed from the vehicle. Maximum weight limit is 100kg.

Deployable Side Steps*

These smart, practical steps make it easier to get in and out of the vehicle. Neatly stowed under the sills, the side steps automatically deploy as soon as the door is opened, or when activated by the key fob. They stow automatically when the door is closed. Towing System – Electrically Deployable Tow Bar**

The electrically deployable tow bar is operated via a switch in the rear loadspace or by the infotainment system in the cabin. It is sensitive to obstruction encountered during deploying/stowing and will stow automatically if necessary. The electrically deployable tow bar is stowed discreetly behind the rear bumper when not in use providing a clean attractive finish. The towing electrics are included and are also hidden until deployed. Approved for up to 3,500kg* maximum towing capacity and 350kg* nose weight. Includes a unique trailer light test facility which allows the driver to be able to check without assistance if the trailer lights, including reverse and brake lights, are functioning correctly. The trailer light test is activated via either a switch in the loadspace or via the touchscreen, depending on the vehicle’s specification.

Loadspace Full Protection Liner

The loadspace full protection liner covers sides, roof and loadspace floor and provides full protection from wet or muddy items like boots, garden waste, or leisure equipment. When loading, the padded panel drops down and acts as a bumper protector. The liner anchors securely to the lashing eyes to keep it in place and is designed to keep bulky objects hidden from view.
