environmental management

Environmental management is an important component of the planning and development process. It aims to protect the value and integrity of the environment for future generations to enjoy.

Approvals are required for activities that may impact on the environment or community. In many cases, multiple approvals could be required for the same project under different legislation and by different government agencies.

We can assist with all types of environmental approvals ranging from targeted studies to providing comprehensive environmental input into large development projects. The process generally involves identification of the approvals required, preparation of the relevant documentation and submission with the relevant authorities. This process will help you meet your project scope and regulatory requirements and will provide documentation which can be used to guide your project operations.

Consideration of the environment is also required for a variety of planning projects such as Local Planning Scheme Amendments and rezonings, subdivision applications, Development Plans and Structure Plans. This is more commonly referred to as an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Land Insights can conduct a desktop assessment of environmental values on the site, identify any issues, conduct on-site investigations and prepare the relevant documentation.

Land Insights has qualified and experienced environmental scientists and urban and regional planners on staff, as well as a large network of environmental specialists. Our experience in the strategic planning and development industry in WA has enabled us to understand and address the intricacies of the environmental and planning approvals system - whether it be dealing with the State Government agencies, local government planners, environmental officers and elected members.

Our Environmental Assessment Reports and Management Plans are comprehensive documents that provide necessary information to allow the relevant government agency to assess and make a decision.

Report content

Our reports generally include a description of the following:

• The proposal and activities on site• The local environment based on a desktop assessment and

on-site investigations• The likely impacts and associated risks• The mitigation actions or management procedures and

how these will reduce the risks• The environmental commitments of the proponent.

Plans and maps

We believe that graphical presentation of environmental assessment reports and management plans is essential to allow for easy interpretation of data and information. All our reports include high quality plans, based on latest aerial photography. These are produced in either AutoCAD or ArcGIS.
