PRESIDENT’S JANUARY MESSAGE Greetings Friends,

I hope you all enjoyed our Holiday Luncheon. An octet from the Devil Mountain Chorus did a great job and were enjoyed by all. To kick off the New Year we have a special talent booked. Robert Strong does a comedy-magic act and performs all over the United States. If you have a friend who was ever talking about visiting this would be a good time to come. Don’t forget that we have the Spirit Van to provide free transportation to our events.

Amazingly we had someone step up and offer to take on the Coordinator of Programs position. We would still like to have a co-chairperson come onto the Board to help. This is a very important position so if you are interested in it, please let us know.

As you know Richard Courtney has stepped down as our Treasurer and Steve Hansen has volunteered to take his place. I want to thank Richard for many years of outstanding service. He really made things easy for the rest of us and he is very much appreciated by the members of your Board of Directors and me. I also want to thank John Haffner, who is also stepping down from being our Program Coordinator after many years of providing us with outstanding programs. We wish you the best in your new leadership position with Kiwanis, John.

I realize that this is the January newsletter, but you will receive it before the Christmas and Hanukkah Holidays, so I want to take this opportunity to send a personal message to all of you. 2018 has been a truly wonderful year and it’s because of the great times I have had spending an evening each month with you. The comments I receive from you mean so much. I want to continue making improvements as your suggestions are made so that we can be the best we can be. I know that I will look back on this time as one of the best in my life. May this holiday season bring you never ending Hope, Joy, Peace, and a whole lot of Love!

Sincerely,

Keith Katzman

P.S. Since finding good entertainment is a top priority for 2019, if you or anyone you know have recommendations for programs and/or would be interested in serving on a Program Committee, will you please let me or another Board member know as soon as possible?

Please remember that the guest fee to attend the monthly dinner meetings is $30. (All the more reason to have your guest join the Lamorinda Movers!) Also, if your guest does not show up and you did not cancel his or her reservation, you will be billed for the dinner. This is because we have to provide an accurate count to the caterer six days before the dinner and we have to pay for the meals even if they are not consumed.
