The LAMBDA high temperature flare is used to burn methane
gases that are formed in the landfill body as a result of anaerobic
processes, or other gases containing methane.
The combustion takes place from the lower edge of the flare cover
under a high quantity of surplus air and a minimum temperature
of 1,000°C. The interior of the flare cover is lined with a ceramic
fibre insulation that can be subjected to a maximum temperature of
1,430°C. The control that is required in order to achieve a constant
combustion temperature is provided by means of air control
dampers. The air intake is ensured on the basis of the natural draft
air supply principle. The turbulence line burner ensures an intensive
mixing of combustion air and the combustion gas so that the control
temperature is already reached in the lower part of the flare cover.
This ensures an homogenous distribution of the temperature within
the combustion space.
The flare is equipped with a gas control and safety line. These
comprise the measuring devices such as the pressure measuring
device and the safety organs, together with the quick-action valve.
The flare is controlled by means of a switch cabinet that can either
be mounted on the flare or separately, e.g. on a building. All of the
signals can be made available for transmission to a superordinate
process control system.
Benefits〉 Invisible flame
〉 Simple, robust design
〉 Fast installation
〉 High output
〉 Easy to control in the operating range
〉 Full combustion due to an optimal mixing with surplus air
