a collective term that refers to the eighteen (18) ethno-linguistic tribes of Mindanao: Ata, Bagobo, Banwaon, B’laan, Bukidnon, Dibabawon, Higaunon, Kalagan, Mamanwa, Mandaya, Mangguwangan,Manobo, Mansaka, Subanen, T’bolli, Tagakaolo, Teduray and the Ubo.
