These days at Lakeview have been so very exciting as we have seen record attendances, baptisms, classes for new Christians, foundational Bible studies, random acts of kindness touches to our neighbors, and church stuff. “One Church – Two Languages” is much more than a motto. Lakeview is truly experiencing the truth that different cultures, and languages really do not matter because we are all one family when we are in Christ. Thank you Lakeview, you are truly the reason God’s love permeates the ministries we embrace and project. Happy Birthday

Children’s News As we close the summer season, I would like to recap the summer

events. In June the RA's went camping in Oklahoma. Thank you for all

who were involved in planning that trip and to their leader Lance Martin.

This year for the first time we held several backyard bible schools. It

was a huge success. A huge thank you to everyone involved that made

it a success. We averaged about 80 students every evening and on

closing night of VBS at the church, we had over 140 in attendance which

was very exciting.

In July we went to Preteen Camp where we learned and

experienced God's marvelous deeds. He alone is God. We had two

decisions that week. There were a lot of seeds planted in our preteeners

hearts and in the shepherds hearts as well. I for one was reminded that

God is in control and when life throws lemons at you, just make

lemonade and let God handle it.

In August we passed out 50 backpacks with school supplies at the

Donna Lynn Apartments. This was also one of our Backyard Bible school

locations. The GA's Christmas in August was a huge success. Mary Ross

is doing an awesome job leading this group.

In closing, we always are in need of teachers or substitute teachers in

the children's area. I would like to hold a teacher training class. Please

let me know if you are interested. This class covers how to review the

material and how to handle the class.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s

special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called

you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

1 Peter 2:9

The purpose of Lakeview Baptist Church is to glorify the Lord

Jesus Christ in all we do, to share His love and message of hope

with those in our community, to prepare and equip believers for

the work of the ministry through teaching of the Scriptures and

to support one another as Christ has commanded.

Life on Mission! It is a book and six-week study written by Dustin Willis and Arron Coe challenging us to participate in the Mission of God on this earth. We don't need to go to another country to do missionary work. We can do missions where we live and where we work. Each one of us that has professed faith in Jesus Christ have the power of the Holy Spirit to spread the Gospel. We have to stop seeking the pleasures and possessions of this world and live our lives fulfilling the purpose for which we were called by our Lord Jesus Christ. "Jesus said: come ye after me, and I will make ye fishers of men." Matthew 4.19. A group of members and myself have just finished with this study that has put a flame in our hearts for sharing Christ with others. I want to continue this study for those who were not able to take it. Evangelism is not for a select few, but for the whole Church. Larry Land is also giving this study in English. Contact him for more information.

The peace of Christ be with you,
