Neighborhood Announcements & Events

SANTA WILL BE VISITING LAKEMONT AGAIN!Join fellow residents for our annual visit from jolly old St. Nick

on December 4 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Hope to see you all!

HELP KEEP YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD BEAUTIFUL!As you have probably already noticed, Lakemont has a very

large common area to maintain with numerous shrubs and trees and large grass areas. The Association would like to commence with a tree trimming project to try and improve street lighting and visibility to promote a better environment for homeowners in the community. During recent visits around the community, we have noticed that children have to walk on the streets due to the trees blocking the sidewalks and drivers have to drive on the wrong side of the road to avoid branches hitting their vehicles. We are constantly working to improve the appearance of our beautiful community and would love to see each homeowner partake on the same mission. We are asking that each homeowner ensure that their yard and street trees are trimmed to provide a six (6) foot head clearance and that no branches obstruct the walk ways or streets. Individual notifications will be sent to homeowners commencing in the beginning of October. We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter!

SEEKING BLOCK CAPTAINSWould you like to become a part of the Neighborhood

Watch program as a Block Captain? We welcome residents interested in serving. If you or someone you know is interested, please send your contact information to our Neighborhood Watch Committee at [email protected] for more information. If you are a current Block Captain and have not been receiving monthly updates from our Neighborhood Watch Program please contact us.

Kristina’s KornerHave a question about the community or surrounding area?

Ever wonder about new development or want opinions on good restaurants or entertainment venues in the area? Send your questions to [email protected] and I’ll do my best to find out the answers!

Well, we’ve addressed this question before but it’s probably worth an update since there is some additional shopping and dining being added nearby.

Q: When will we get more retail and shopping nearby?

A: The Shops at Bella Terra (Bellaire and Grand Parkway, where the Wal-Mart is) is getting some new retail and eateries that should make you excited-at least I got giddy! Adding to the already expanding shopping center look for Ulta Beauty, Malibu Tan, Marble Slab, Yumi Café, Chick-fil-A and Carl’s Jr to start construction soon. There is also the newly constructed shopping center at Fry Rd. and Grand Parkway which features a Whole Foods, Stein Mart and World Market. More great opportunities for economic growth, jobs, local attractions and yes TRAFFIC!
