o Neelum Valley is a 144 km long bow-shaped valley in Azad Kashmir Region. The Valley is situated at the North & North-East of Muzaffarabad (The Capital of Azad Kashmir).

DOMESTIC TOURISM:

Domestic tourism is the type of tourism where people visit tourist site within their own country.

For example: Pakistani people visits Murree Sawat and other places.

INBOUND TOURISM :

Inbound tourism is when someone/non-resident comes to your country.

OUTBOUND TOURISM :

Outbound tourism refers to residents to travel

outside their home country.

INTERNAL TOURISM:

Internal tourism means traveling within one's

own country.

NATIONAL TOURISM:

National tourism mean traveling for both

inside or outside the country.

INTERNATIONAL TOURISM:

International Tourism refers to travelling from one country to another for recreational or business purposes.

It provides social, cultural, educational and economic benefits.

SUB TYPES OF TOURISM

LEISURE TOURISM:

Leisure time can be defined as “free time”, not doing any work. It is that time to do things that you normally have no time for in your daily life.

BUSINESS TOURISM:

TO complete a business transaction or attend a

business meeting / conference.

SPORTS TOURISM:To experience a sport or sporting event such as

Olympics.

CULTURAL TOURISM:

To experience the history and culture of a people.

ADVENTURE TOURISM:Adventure tourism is an outdoor activity

that generally takes place in an unusual, remote or a wilderness area .

WILDLIFE TOURISM:Wildlife tourism is the observation of wild

(non-domestic) animals in their natural environment or in captivity. It includes activities such as photography, viewing and feeding of animals.

Tourism plays an important role in the economy of a country and especially if it is a developing country. Huge amounts of foreign reserves can be earned from it without much investment.

Pakistan can easily become one of the world’s leading tourist countries and by doing this it can overcome if not all, then some part of its financial and economic problems.

STEPS TO PROMOTE TOURISM

Most important step to promote tourism ,when people feel secure then they prefer to visit Pakistan, because security is basic need of people all over the world so we should give security to tourists.

SECURITY

We should made several information centers in our country to provide guidance to the visitors , that are helpful for tourists to get information for specific places. Where these center are available visitors prefer those countries.

GUIDANCE

Through publicity we can show most beautiful places of our country to the world that attracts tourists to our country and people want to visit those beautiful places of our lovely country.

• We should give adds in famous newspapers.

• Online advertisement.

• Through news channels.

PUBLICITY

Government should provide subsidies to tourism industry for promoting tourism in our country , by spending this amount we can maintain our most beautiful places that attracts visitors.

SUBSIDIES

Clean surroundings also can help to promote tourism. Tourists also want to stay in an area that is clean, and they prefer the clean environment to visit, so we should keep our surroundings clean to promote tourism for our country.

ORGANIZED FESTIVAL

• Chief minister Punjab inaugurates second Lahore International Tourism Expo 2014 for the promotion of tourism.

• Peshawar , On the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak a number of news projects to promote tourism in the province are in the pipeline. These include a modern ferry services on River Sindh and River Kabul at Nowshera, Khair Abad, Kund, Dera Ismail Khan and other places.

• Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Muhammad Barjees Tahir emphasized active marketing of Pakistan’s beautiful landscape and its ancient civilizations to attract tourists across the world.

• Travel and tourism sector is a key driver for investment and economic growth as the government has been giving due attention to development and improvement of infrastructure facilities including road networks and other related services.

STEPS TAKEN BY GOVERNMENTFOR TOURISM

PTDC is the tourism development body of the Ministry of tourism Government of Pakistan. PTDC is established as a semi private corporation by the Government of Pakistan.

• Development and improvement of PTDC Tourist Information Centre's, Hotel, Motels throughout Pakistan to attract domestic and international tourists.

• To produce publicity and promotional material for distribution at home and abroad.

OBJECTIVES OF PTDC

• To conduct promotional programmes, activities and events for attracting tourists.

• To create awareness of tourism through private sector, Pakistan Missions abroad, PIA offices, tour operators, travel agents and hoteliers.

• To undertake familiarization and package tours, touristic transportation and provide ground handling to group tours.

OBJECTIVES OF PTDC

• Planning & Development - identification and implementation of projects dealing with tourism infrastructure.

• Publicity & Promotion of tourist products, products, production of tourist literature, domestic / foreign publicity.

• Operation of AHP Ltd. a Public Limited Company, Managing and operating following hotel.

FUNCTIONS OF PTDC

• Management of all hospitality units operated by PTDC Motels (Pvt.) Ltd. in various tourist destinations of the country where private sector is shy to invest.

• Management of Pakistan Tours (Pvt.) Ltd, which provides ground handling and transport facilities for international and domestic groups.

• Pakistan Tourism Development runs several hotels and motels at unique and far off places in the northern Pakistan as well as few in the southern Pakistan. All of PTDC motels offer a standardized services and can be graded as 3 star motels. Like,

• Though Pakistan, has lately taken initiative but still there is dire need of tireless efforts to exploit this sector and to add more dimensions to attract the tourists.

• No proper attention was paid to harness the God gifted opportunity to earn more and more foreign tourists and foreign exchange which would open up new vistas of employment in the tourism sector.

CONCLUSION

Moreover the tourists may find and explore the market of their interest in Pakistan. Private sector should take initiative to develop and exploit all tourist attraction .
