The ministry of labor and employment discharges its responsibilities regarding labor policy;
labor leaves; labor welfare; discipline and place in industry; national and international
contracts regarding labor issues, trade union, labor court; labor appellate tribunal etc.
There are three major departments under ministry of labor and employment-------
1. Department of labor
2. Department for inspection of functions and establishment: To inspect health, safety,

Industrial Relations Institute:
• +t provides training to management, labor leaders, worers and government officials
• There are four industrial relations institute situated in Tongey, %hittagong, hulna
and *a#shahee.
Labor Welfare Centre:

b To motivate worers for family planning
c To ensure healthy environment and pure water
d To tae step regarding illiteracy
e To provide recreational facilities through sports, drama, literacy. There are 22 laborwelfare centres /according to the information, 100
Tripartite Consultative Committee:
• To provide counseling regarding labor policy, labor issue.
