Early on, I thought I was supposed to do all the talking. I would go to God with a ridiculously long list, read it off to Him like I was ordering shoes, and then finish with a trite and efficient ‘Amen’! --I called this prayer. The idea that God had something to say to me never crossed my mind. I don’t know exactly when it finally sunk in  but I am grateful that it did. Because when I stopped to listen... my life changed. When He spoke, He told me He had a purpose for my life. He explained that His plans for me were good and if I would just trust Him, He’d give me the desires of my heart. VISA S COMPLETEI don’t ha ve to worry aboutvisas for another year! Oh!What a blessing! Thanks so

much for praying!

SCHOOL DAYS

My intensive Portugueselanguage classes began this

week. I love learning!

VEHICLE NEEDSI’m still without a vehicle.

Everywhere I turn, I find carsthat are not sturdy enough...or that are out of my price

range. Please pray for God’s best and for patience while Icontinue the search. Thanks!

DEPT. of HEALTHAfter much prayer this

month, my director and I will be going to meet with the

dept. of health on this week. Please, please pray for

lasting favor, open doors, and welcoming hearts.

Quite a lot depends on thismeeting.

STAFFING STUFFResumes are coming in for

the clinic, but as of yet noneof them are suitable. Please

pray for the right nurse(s) toapply and for wisdom in

hiring them. Thanks!

Great news! Your prayers were heard. Last week, I was able to get

my visa in Zimbabwe without any problems despite my expired police

clearance. Moreover, I was also able to get my long-term visa (aka:

DIRI) in o nly two days once I got back t o Mozambique.

One of the reasons I was able to get these papers completed inrecord time... is Manuel. Manuel is a Mozambican friend who has

been helping me with the visa process. His connections, experience,

and insights have saved me much time and stress. What a blessing to

have such a friend!

My directors assure me that visasNEVER come together this quickly; and I

believe them. It is just more confirmation

that I’m in the right spot and that God is

making my paths straight, as promised!

What an extraordinary God we serve!

Thank you so much for praying!

After spending two (frustrating)

years in Sudan speaking to patients

through translators, I asked God to

help me no t make the same mistake

the next time I went to the field.

--He has answered that prayer.

When I got the call to come to

Mozambique, I was thrilled to find a

school not far from Maforga where I

might study not only Portuguese (the

national language), but also Chetewe

(the regional dialect).

It took some time to organize a

place for me to stay in the city and

to haggle with the school fees, but

I’m happy to say that it has finally

begun. --Whoohoo!

School is in session!
