Why is Safety Important?• PREVENTION

– Make sure another accident does not happen again.

General Lab Safety Rules1. Absolutely NO eating or drinking in lab area (not even

gum)!2. Always wear required Personal Protective Equipment

(PPE) in lab3. Always be aware of what you are doing and your

surroundings.4. Know the locations of emergency stations and exits. 5. Wash hands with soap BEFORE AND AFTER a lab

activity.6. Always clean your lab area BEFORE AND AFTER a lab.7. Make sure your peers are working safely in the lab.8. Ask for help if you are unsure about anything!

and risks, proper handling, and disposal.• Use as reference if emergency occurs.• Required by law to be accessible to everyone

using lab.
