CYCLOSPORT IS A DISCIPLINE ExPANDINg ALL OvER ThE wORLDCyclosportive events (or cyclosport) fuse bike touring and cycling competitions through offering several options for all the cyclists. In this vein, the organizers provide race bibs, rankings and timekeeping, similar to a marathon. In France, there are more than 150 races of this type. The oldest and most famous is the Marmotte, created in the Alps and that draws more than 8,000 participants. The most popular is the Étape du Tour Mondovélo, which attracts 10,000 participants every year. There is also the Archédoise that accounts for almost 12,000 participants.

LA RONDE TAhITIENNE 4th annual Sunday MAy 31 2015LOCAL

AND INTERNATIONAL PRESSEnthused by his participation in the 2014 La Ronde tahitienne, the editor in chief of the website “Velo 101” will honor us with his return this year. After a publicity campaign that started at the beginning of November 2014, he states in his latest article :

Among the unique qualities of La Ronde Tahitienne (The Tahitian Tour), which will hold its fourth annual edition Sunday, May 31 on the East Coast of Tahiti, each competitor will receive a cycling jersey upon registration. Competitors will choose one of six tunic designs created by Wearcomp that they must wear the day of the event. Exotic Cycling, which now has the UCI seal of approval, will furnish Eco Cyclo ambassadors with their own green apparel, which are provided by sponsor Henri Sannier. Journalists will wear a splendid collector’s edition Air Tahiti Nui-Tahiti Tourisme jer-sey that will be sold for charity. All proceeds will go to the Kiwanis Club to help fund their efforts to provide impoverished children with the opportunity to participate in SAGA, a center for sports activities during school holidays.(Vélo 101 January 22, 2014)

We will also add that the event is registered on the international cycling schedule (UCI), as well as on the national schedule of the French Cycling Federation. The event is also mentioned in New Zealand Road Cyclist Magazine, New Zealand’s premier cycling magazine. France’s N° 1 cycling magazine, Le Cycle, will dispatch a journalist for exclusive coverage of the event.
