    1.InstructionsforUse

    ?Note: Functions marked with in this manual are only supported byspecificproductorcustomizedproduct, andwillbemarked afterthat.

    1.1FunctionsIntroduction

    1. Byimprovingtheperfectcombinationofbiometricsandcryptography,ourFP

    Locksensuredoublesecuritythroughthefingerprintpluspasswordunlocking

    feature.

    2. TheOrganicLED(OLED)displayaffordsclearandbrightreadoutsthatmake

    ourFPLocks intuitive andeasy touse.YoucanuseourFPLockswith ease

    afterfollowingtheoperationinstructions.

    3. Supports to set classified privileges for super administrators, administrators

    andordinaryusers.

    4. Supports deletionofallorthespecifiedregistered userdata.

    5. Supports firmware upgrade, uploading/downloading of user information and

    unlockingrecordsthrough the USBpendrive.

    6. Supportsoffline browse of unlockingrecords.

    7. Supportsaccuratedisplayoftimeanddate, withannualdeviation lessthantwo

    minutes.

    8. Supports temporary powersupplyof backupbattery.

    9. You can set theFPLocks to be in theNormallyOpen (NO) state in special

    cases.

    10. Supports displayofthebatterychargeleveland triggerlowvoltagealarms.

    11. Features anelectricclutchhandledesignwhichhelpseffectivelypreventtheFP

    Lock failure caused by damage of the internal structure as a result of the

    forceddestructionofthehandle.

    LEDindicatorisonforthreesecondsifanerroroccurs.ThegreenLEDindicatoris

    onforthreesecondswhenanoperationsucceeds.

    Band switch: If you cannot access the menu interface due to the loss of

    administratorsforsomereasons,proceedasfollows:PressandholdtheMenukey

    forthreesecondstodisplaytheadministratorverificationinterface,andthenturnthe

    Bandswitchattherearofthelocktoleftorright,andopenupthemenuasasuper

    administrator.

    OLEDdisplay:TheblackandwhiteOLEDdisplayfeatureswhitegraphicsortext

    againstablackbackground.

    Fingerprint sensor: You can only collect or match fingerprint by pressing your

    fingeronthefingerprintsensorwhenthelightinthefingerprintsensorwindowison

    otherwisenothinghappenswhenyoupressyourfingeron thefingerprintsensor.

    @Note: When you cannot power off the FP Lock due to the exception ofprogram,pressandholdtheESCkeytopoweroffandthenrestarttheFPLock.Itis

    notrecommendedtopowerofftheFPLockby thisway whentheFPLockoperates

    normally.

    Emergencypowerport:Youcanadoptanexternalbackupbatterytoopenthelock

    intheeventofunlockingfailureduetoinsufficientpowersupplyofthe FPLock.

    Keyhole: Youcanuseamechanicalkeyforemergencydooropening.

    USBport (optional): The USB port is used for firmware upgrade, uploading or

    downloadinguserinformationand unlockingrecordsthroughaUSBpendrive.Only

    somemodelshaveUSBportoptions.

    1.5InstallationRequirements

    RecommendedTools:

    You may need the following tools while following the instructions to install FP

    Locks:

    l Aruler.

    l Amarkerpen.

    l Adrillingtool.

    l Acrossscrewdriver.

    1.5.1Precautions

    1.TheFPLockisapplicabletodoorsof3570mminthickness.Besuretolistyour

    specialrequirementsorremarksforFPLocks tobe installedondoors thicker than

    70mmbeforeplacinganorder.

    2. Before ordering or installation of single latch lock, please confirm the

    correspondingaccessories.

    Single latch lock:

    3.Pleaseconfirmthedooropeningdirections.Assumeyouarestandingoutsideand

    facing a door and then there are four door opening directions: Left inward, left

    outward, right inward and right outward. Left inward/outward means the door

    swingsinward/outwardwithhingesontheleftrightinward/outwardmeansthedoor

    swingsinward/outwardwithhingesontheright,asshowninthefollowingfigure:

    4.Ensurethecentralpointofthehandleisabout1meterabovethefloor.

    5.Ensurealltheaccessoriesinstalledontherightposition.

    6.Pleasefollowtheanimation instructionstoinstall FPLocks.

    1.5.2BackupBattery

    The FP Lock supports temporary use of external DC power for fingerprint or

    passwordmatchingandunlocking.Butwhenitconnectedwithanexternalbattery,it

    cannotprovide such functions as enrollment, deletionand setting, so as toprevent

    dataloss asaresultofpowerinstability.

    Asshownin thefigurebelow,connecta9VbatterytotheEmergencypowerportatthebottomof the FPLock,regardlessofpolarities.

    IfyoupoweroffaFPLockwithoutclosingthelockduringtheuseofexternalpower,

    thelockmortisewillnotautomaticallyreturntoitsoriginalposition.Thatis,theFP

    Lock remains inNOstate.To solve this problem,youcan replace thebattery and

    thenverifytoopenthelockoncetohavethelockmortise back in position.

    1.5.3Backup(Emergency)MechanicalKey

    1. Removethescrewfromthelock

    handle,and takeoffthehandle.

    2.Insertthekey,turntorightor

    left180tounlockthedoor.

    takeoffthehandleandrotate180.

    1.6Precautions

    1.Westronglyrecommendyoutoenrollatleastoneadministratorafterinstallingthe

    FPLock. Andthenyoucanenroll the ordinaryusers.

    2.Donotremovebatterieswhenmatching,enrollingordeletingfingerprintsbecause

    the sudden powerdown may result in data loss of FP Locks. Before removing

    batteries,makesurethe FPLockisnotinworkingstate.

    3. It is recommended to replace the FPLock batteries oncewithin sixmonths, to

    avoidthedamagetothecircuitduetothebatteryleakage.Donotusebatterieswith

    poorquality.

    4.When installing a FP Lock, connect the plug to the socket properly. Improper

    connectionmayleadto FPLockfailure.

    1.7UserPrivileges

    Theuserprivilegesareclassifiedintothreetypes:Superadministrator,administrator

    andordinaryuser.

    Superadministrator:Refer touserswhohaveaccess to all system functions and

    modifyallsystemsettings.

    Administrators: Refer to who users who have access to all operations except

    performingadvancedsettingsandenrollingsuperadministrator.

    Ordinary users: Refer to all users other than the super administrators and

    administrators. Ordinary users only have access to the fingerprint matching and

    unlockingfunctions.

    1.8TimeSetting

    You need to set the correct date and time when you first use of a FP Lock, the

    operationsareas follows:

    1)PowerontheFPLockbypressingtheMenukey

    to open up the initial interface, as shown in the

    figureontheleft.

    ?Note:The iconontheinitial interfaceis thebattery iconindicatinghowmuchchargeremains.Onthetoprightcorneroftheinitialinterface,thedisplay

    alternatesbetweendate andtimeevery5seconds.

    2)PressandholdtheMenukeyforthreesecondsto

    access themenu interface.Theadministratorneeds

    toverifyandthenmovetothestep3).Ifthereisno

    administrator, moveto the step3) directly.

    3) Press 2/3 to select Options. and then press

    Menu.

    4)Press2/3toselectSystemOpt.andthenpress

    Menu.

    6) Tomodify date or time, press 2/3 to move the

    cursor to the desired option, and then press 2/3

    again to enter correctdate or time.PressMenu to

    saveyoursettings.

    @Note:YoucansetthedatebetweenJanuary1st2003andDecember31st2032.To set the date beyond this range, you need to consult our commercial

    representativesortechnicalsupportengineers.

    2.1EnrollinganAdministrator

    If the FP Lock has no administrator, you must enroll at least one administrator

    beforeenrollingordinaryusers.Toenrollanadministrator,proceedasfollows:

    1)PowerontheFPLockbypressingtheMenukey

    to open up the initial interface. Press andhold the

    Menu todisplaythemenuinterface.

    2) Press Menu to display the user management

    interface.

    3)Press2/3toselectEnrollAdminandthenpress

    Menu.

    Afterthat,theenrolledadministratorcanperformfingerprintor passwordenrollment,

    theoperations are asfollows.

    4)EnterEnrollAdmininterface according to the

    operationin 2.1EnrollanAdministratorsteps 1),2),

    3). Press 2/3 to select Enroll FP and then press

    Menu.

    5) Press 2/3 to select Admin Accredit, and then

    select Supervisor (Super administrator) or

    Admin (Administrator). Press Menu to confirm

    yourselection.

    7) The system by default assigns unused user IDs

    from 00001 and you may also manually enter an

    unuseduserID.

    8) Press the same finger on the fingerprint sensor

    three consecutive times by adopting the proper

    finger placement mode. For details, see 1.3

    9) The system will prompt to save the enrollment

    informationaftertheenrollmentissuccessful.Ifthe

    enrollmentfails,thesystemwillprompttoreenroll

    fingerprint.ThesystemreturnstotheNewEnroll

    interface upon successful enrollment. You can

    continue or exit the fingerprint enrollment at that

    time.

    7) The system by default assigns unused user IDs

    from 00001 and you may also manually enter an

    unuseduserID.

    8) Input a password by pressing the number keys

    andpressMenu toconfirmyourinput.

    9)Inputthepasswordagainbypressingthenumber

    keysandpressMenu toconfirmyourinput.

    10) Press Menu to save the enrolled data, after

    successfulpasswordenrollment,thegreenindicator

    willlightupfor3seconds.Iftheenrollmentfailed,

    the red indicator will light up for 3 seconds, and

    prompt you to reenroll it. Once the password is

    successfullyenrolled,theprocedureiscompleted.

    @Note:Apasswordconsistsof6to10digits.Youcanenrollonlyonepasswordfor eachuser IDandrepeatedpasswords areforbiddenotherwise, thesystemwill

    2.2EnrollanOrdinaryUser

    An administrator can enroll another administrator, or enroll ordinary users, with

    operations asfollows:

    1)PowerontheFPLockbypressingtheMenukey

    toopenuptheinitialinterface.

    2)PressandholdtheMenukeytoaccessthemenu.

    The system will prompt for administrator

    confirmation. Enter the administrator password or

    match your fingerprint once. Skip to step 4) if

    verificationsucceedsotherwise,proceedtostep3.

    3)ThesystemdisplaysthepromptErrorPwd.on

    the screen and returns to the Admin Affirm

    interface for reverification. The main menu

    interfaceisdisplayeduponsuccessfulverification.

    4) Press MENU to display the user management

    interface.

    6)Entertheuserenrollmentinterface.

    After that, the enrolled administrator can perform fingerprint and password

    enrollment. The rest of the operations are basically the same with those of

    Onthe"NewEnroll?"interfaceof2.2EnrollanOrdinaryUser,ifyoupressESCto

    cancel new enrollment, then the Backup Enroll interface will be displayed, as

    showninthefollowingfigure:

    Thebackupenrollmentoperationsarebasicallyconsistentwith thenewenrollment

    operationsexceptthatBackupEnrollinsteadofNewEnrollisdisplayedonthe

    topoftheinterface.

    @Note:(1)Itis recommended toenrollatleasttwodifferentfingersforlongstandingusers.

    (2)Ifyouwishtomodifythepasswordafterpasswordenrollmentfinished,youcan

    replacetheoriginalpasswordwiththepasswordenteredin the backupenrollment.

    2.4UserVerificationandSetNOStatus

    1) Press the Menu key to display the initial

    interface. The fingerprint sensor is in active state.

    Press your fingerwith enrolled fingerprintor enter

    your password (press Menu after entering

    password).

    2) Thedevicewillprompt ErrorPwd andreturnto

    theinitial interfaceuntilverificationsuccessful.

    Or the device will prompt Please Try Agn and

    return to the initial interface until verification

    successful.

    ?Note:Youcanonlymatchfingerprintswhenthe FPLockisinnonONstate.3)YourIDnumberwillbedisplayedonthescreen

    uponsuccessfulverificationandthenyouwillhear

    the unlocking sound. Rotate the handle of the FP

    ?Note:WhensettingtheNOoptiontoYES(See3.1.5NormalOpenSetting),If fingerprint or password verification is unsuccessful, the system will display a

    prompt Please press your finger again or Password error. The parameters

    Illegal Cnt. and Illegal Alarm are set by the administrator. The system will

    triggeranalarmaftertheillegaloperationsreachthespecifiedvalue.Fordetails,see

    3.1.1 OperateAlarmSetting and 3.1.2 IllegalTimes.

    @Note:IfthevalueoftheparameterIllegalCnt.islargerthan6becausethefingerprintverificationfailedorthepasswordwasentered6consecutive times,the

    systemwillautomaticallypoweroff.

    2.5DeleteUserInformation

    Warning: In deleting user information process, it is strictly prohibited to

    disconnectthepowersupply,toprevent thedeletionof otherdatabymistake!!!

    Theoperationsare asfollows:

    2) Enter the administrator password ormatch your

    fingerprint once. Move to step 4) if verification

    succeedsotherwise,proceedtostep3).

    the screen and returns to the Admin Affirm

    interface for reverification. The main menu

    interfaceisdisplayeduponsuccessfulverification.

    10) After the user deletion is finished, restart the

    Low Voltage Protection: When the battery meter stays at one bar, the system

    promptsyoutoreplacethebatteryandthebatteryiconstartsflashing.If youpress

    In addition, the menu is also inaccessible during use of external power so as to
