Information and Communication
The English word “COMMUNICATION” comes from a Latin
noun ‘communis’ and Latin verb ‘Communicare’ which means –
To impart
To participate
To share, or
To make common
But, What is it that we share in Communication?
It is the ‘INFORMATION’, i.e. something to tell, in whatever
way we like, or, as the situation demands.
Communication & its social aspect
In society, we share
Thoughts & feelings
Emotions & Reactions
Ideas & Philosophies
Facts & Figures
With individuals as well as groups at all levels.
In other words, “Communication is essentially the ability of one
person to make contacts with another and to make himself or
herself UNDERSTOOD.”
Communication is not just an act, it is actually a process by
which meanings like information, ideas, emotions, skills,
knowledge are exchanged/transmitted between people
through the use of a
common set of symbols, words, pictures, figures, Graphs,
drawings, illustrations etc
There are auditory (verbal) means, such as speaking, singing and
sometimes tone of voice
nonverbal, physical means, such as body language, gestures,
sign language,, touch, eye contact, or the use of writing.
Communication : as a process
What is Communication
Communication is:
7% What you say
(words)
38% How you say it
(volume, pitch, rhythm, etc.)
55% Your body language
(facial expressions, posture, etc.)
(Source: A. Barbour, "Louder Than Words: Non-verbal Communication.“)
The information source decides to communicate and encodes a
message, transmits it through a channel to the receiver which
is then decoded and acted upon to provide the feedback.
‘There are noises or distortions in between’.

In order to be able to successfully perform these functions,
communication must be so designed and planned that
It gains the attention of the receiver;
Must use the signals, symbols, or codes that are easily understood by the receiver;

Method Gather Information from Internet/Books/Market Surveys
1.
1. See the videos and find which one is better and how it is better.
2. Give points of scale of work done in making these videos (overview points).
