Be Re-Freshed at IRBC!

Our staff is thrilled you have joined us for this year's NARBC Confer-

ence. We love this conference and the opportunity to re-new fellowship with people who know the ins & outs, as well as the highs & lows of camp ministry. It is so much fun to pick up where we left off last year!

The prefix “re” means “to come back to”. So, be re-freshed as we

re-connect and re-joice together in what God has done.

Our focus in our sessions & workshops this week is to be re-charged

spiritually. Our prayer is that you go home with a re-newed passion to serve our Savior!

Our Beginning: Iowa Regular Baptist Camp moved to the north shore of Clear Lake in 1950. The camp is owned by the 98 churches in the Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Since its inception, the camp’s program has been centered on the preaching and teaching of God’s Word.

Our Message: The lighthouse is a great picture of what our camp desires to be – “A Light to the Next Generation.” The Beacon on a lighthouse gives warning of the impending danger that lies ahead. Scripture tells us that we must warn the next generation and give hope! (Psalm 78).

Our Mission: To assist churches in the spiritual development of people with the Word of God in a camping environment.

Our Campers: Our Campers primarily come from “ our churches” and their children’s programs, or with friends or family from these churches. Special Camp Week for Mentally Handicapped 4 Youth Camps: Jr. Boys, Jr. Girls, Jr. High, Sr. High 5 Family Camps - Ministered to 380 families in 2017 Expanding Retreat Season - 5 Winter Meltdowns, Father & Son,

Mother & Daughter, Timothy, Hispanic, Men’s, Ladies’, Pastor & Wife, Senior Retreat, with many Church and Christian School rentals filling in the schedule.

Our Staff: God has blessed us with a staff and their families who love the Lord and the ministry! We desire to invest in our staff who in turn invest in our campers. Six staff members and families here year round as well as two interns 24 “College age” Summer Staff 100 Teen staff members who are hired from 2-10 weeks each

summer. Approximately 36 work each week. Last summer we had 14 adult/retired volunteers who ministered all or

most of the summer. They are a great help and example to the rest of our staff.

300 Volunteer counselors minister each summer at our youth & special camps. They have ongoing training each year at our Counselor Training Retreat.

Like any camp ministry we depend heavily on volunteers throughout the year. Each of the last three years we have had between 500-800 volunteer days!

Jon and Jeniffer were at Calvary Baptist Church of Wisconsin Rapids for over twenty years. In that role he developed an intentional plan for training men and women to serve Christ. Out of this, God blessed Cal-vary by sending over twenty-five people into full-time ministry since 2000.

Jon now serves as Director of Training and Enrichment with Baptist Church Planters. Jon seeks to help mother churches and church plants train men and women as spiritual leaders through a year-long training program. He guides an internship program proctored by trained pastors and ministry leaders.

Jon is a favorite speaker at IRBC - speaking effectively at every ven-ue. He has spoken at Sr. High Camp, Family Camps, Men’s Retreat, Sportsman Adventure and our Timothy Retreat for young men and their Pastor. We believe that you will appreciate his practical

approach from God’s word that will RE-FRESH your soul!

The Contenders are a ministry team from Faith Baptist Bible College. Each year the team spends their summer at IRBC! They counsel for youth camps, and teach our children’s program for Family Camps.

They will join us Tuesday afternoon & evening!

15.

Tony Masauth Tony is a service technician at DuPont Pioneer with extensive HVARC experience. Tony & his wife have three children and attend Saylorville Church where he serves with the youth group & in the sound room. Tony was on IRBC’s summer staff in 2005 & 2007!

Chris Kallal Chris is the Director at Camp Good News in Washington, IL. Chris has been in the Camping Ministry for 17 years, which includes 10 years as the Program Director of Camp Manitoumi in Lowpoint and three years as the Executive Director of Ingersoll Scout Reservation in London Mills. He has visited multiple camps over the years to “steal” ideas from them! He has “gobs of hand-outs” and hands-on activities for you to take home with you!

Lowell Washburn Lowell is back for the NARBC Conference! Everyone loved his Red-Tailed Hawk Demonstration in 2012. This year we hope to have a visit from a Peregrine Falcon. Lowell has retired from the Iowa DNR where he spent much of his time as photogra-pher for DNR publications. His ongoing outdoor passions include falconry, traditional bow hunting, waterfowling, spending time with hunting dogs, and herpetology. Check out his blog for articles & photos: www.iawildlife.org/blog

“The Betz Kids” Tyler & Pamela moved to IRBC in 2001 when they were 10 & 8 years old. They are both now in their 20’s and married. They embraced being camp kids, and loved being a part of camp. They served on summer staff in a variety of positions. They are excit-ed to share with our Camp Kids this week, as well as with the adults, the joys (and sometimes struggles) of living at camp!

Sydney Millage Sydney earned a teaching degree from the University of Northern Colorado and is completing a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Faith Bible Seminary in Lafayette, IN. She is certified with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC, formerly NANC). She and her husband, David, have four children. They farm in southeast Iowa and lead the youth group in their local church. You will be blessed & encouraged by her workshops. Sydney would love to chat with you about life & minis-try this week!

Matt Reno Matt and his wife, Marcee, served as counselors at Twin Lakes while at Cedarville University. He has served at Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant for 12 years. Matt is active in serving at IRBC. He serves on our board and is the Program Chairman for Jr. Boys Camp. He is also involved with our Counselor Training.

Brian Jones Brian Jones is a pastor in Michigan. He also serves churches & camps by represent-ing Keys for Kids. He would love to share with you how your camp can take advantage of a program that will send a Keys for Kids Devotional (that’s personalized by your camp) to each of your campers!

I will extol you, my God and King,

I will bless your name

I will praise your name

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.

Commend His works to another

Declare His mighty acts

Meditate on the glorious splendor of His majesty, and on His wondrous works

Speak of the might of His awesome deeds

Declare His greatness

Gush over the fame of His abundant goodness

Sing aloud of His righteousness

Recount how the LORD…

is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.

Give thanks to the LORD

Speak of the glory and power of His kingdom and tell of your power

Remember how the LORD has been faithful…

in all his words and

kind in all his works

Recount how the LORD

has held you up when you were falling and

has raised you up when you were bowed down.

Has fed you

has satisfied you

is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth

hears your cry and saves you

preserves all who love him

Let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.
