L CONCERTS - 2015 EDITION
The L Concerts are back, a music concept, which is more than a festival. The event is almost as a display of the new musical trends in the most different genres, introducing itself in a special spot and targeted to a quite demanding audience, where Portuguese speaking countries are
always in the limelight.A festival runs for three months, bringing the “here and now” as
if we were in any other metropolis. It generates trends, ideas, discussion and unity to an audience,
as diversified as demanding about its line-up. This year the highlight goes to the renowned artist Bianca
Casady of Cocorosie with her world première, introducing a solo project before marking presence in the most emblematic festivals across Europe, among several other great guest artist from Africa, Brazil, USA and Portugal.
The concerts are held always at 9.45pm, in a heavenly place - the Estalagem da Ponta do Sol, 80 meters high, having as back scenery one of the most beautiful villages of the island, Ponta do Sol.
Entry is limited to prior-confirmation of attendance.Official website: site www.pontadosol.com

MADEIRA WInE FESTIVAl
The Wine Festival is one of Madeira’s main tourist attractions organized by the Regional Secretariat for Economy, Tourism and Culture, an event of recognized excellence in the promotion of our wine and of its undeniable socioeconomic significance.
The festivities take place from August 30st to September 6th at the central walkway of Avenida Arriaga– downtown Funchal, where the majority of the events are concentrated, with various living portraits regarding the winemaking process in the region (presses, casks, barrels, grape picking baskets, traditional means of transportation), local cuisine, Madeiran wine tastings and regional handicrafts exhibitions.
Performances by local folklore groups, traditional Madeiran music and performances by the Orquestra ligeira da Madeira, will also liven up the four days of the festival.
On September 5th, the parish of Estreito de Câmara de lobos , welcomes one again, this traditional live harvest festival, with the picking of the grapes in a picturesque environment of a Madeiran Quinta, followed by an ethnographic parade that every year embraces a large number of folklore and ethnography groups
After the parade, follows the treading of the grapes in the traditional press thank, one of the greatest attractions of this event much appreciated by the thousands of tourists that visit our island in this time of the year.
