DESCRIPTIONThe L-39NG represents a new generation of basic and advanced jet trainer based onproven and reliable concept of L-39 jet trainer. The aircraft is also suitable for lightcombat and reconnaissance missions.

MAIN DESIGN FEATURESIn addition to advantages of legacy L-39 versions such as low operational cost, highreliability, easy handling and rugged design including wide track undercarriage withlow pressure tyres and air inlets positioned above the wing in order to prevent foreignobject damage to the engine, the L-39NG features:• Integrated digital avionics with glass cockpit for increased training effectiveness• New Williams International FJ44-4M turbofan engine with FADEC controls and

electrical starting eliminating costly jet fuel starter• Four underwing and one underfuselage weapon pylons for a wide variety ofgun, bomb and rocket armament and external fuel tanks• Single-piece canopy for improved cockpit visibility

• New escape system with „zero-zero“ ejection seats• Redesigned wing with integral fuel tanks significantly improving range and endurance• Redesigned aiframe with fatigue life of up to 15,000 flight hours• To reduce operating costs, the L-39NG is designed for a two-level maintenance
