The Master was in an expansive mood, so his disciplessought to learn from him the stages he had passed throughin his quest for the divine.

"God first led me by the hand," he said "into the land ofaction and there I dwelt for several years. He returned andled me to the land of sorrow where I lived until my heartwas purged of every inordinate attachment. That is when Ifound myself in the hand of love whose burning flamesconsumed whatever was left in me of the self. Then hetook me to the land of silence where the mysteries of lifeand death revealed themselves before my wondering eyes."

"Was that the final stage of your quest?", they asked.

"No", said the Master and continued.

He said, "One day God said, ' Today I shall take you to theinnermost sanctuary of the temple, to the heart of God

himself,' and I was led to the Land of Laughter."

This month we are celebrating the glory of the Sacred

Heart of Jesus. One of the best ways of imitating the heart

of God, the Sacred Heart is to laugh. Laughter is the

symbol of love and compassion.

When we laugh we are happy. When we are happy we

can't have the feeling of hatred, resentment, jealousy

and other negative emotions. In the absence of negative

emotions, there is love and compassion.

This is the last stage of spirituality. This is easily broughtby anyone just by laughing, laughing and laughing.

PRESS RELEASEThe CBCI National Centres get new Directors

24th May, 2014

The Standing Committee of the Catholic Bishops'Conference of India has appointed new Directors for the CBCI NationalCentres in view of the expiry of term of offices of the present Directors.

Fr. Gratian Carlo, SJ, of the Karnataka Prov ince isappointed Director of National Vocation Service Centre (NVSC), Pune,with effect from 1st May, 2014 as the term of office of the present DirectorFr. Joe Mathias, SJ, expired on 30th April, 2014.

Fr. Sagaya John of the Diocese of Palayamkottai isappointed Director of National Biblical, Catechetical and Liturgical Cen-tre (NBCLC), Bangalore, with effect from 1st July, 2014 as the term ofoffice of the present Director, Fr. Cleophas Dominic Fernandes, will ex-pire on 30th June, 2014.

Fr. Paul V. Parathazham of the Diocese of Kothamangalam isappointed Director of St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences,Bangalore, with effect from 1st September, 2014 as the term of office ofthe present Director, Fr. Lawrence D'Souza, will expire on 31st August,2014.

Fr. Pradeep Kumar Samad of the Diocese of Rourkela is appointedAssociate Director of St. John's Medical College Hospital with effect from1st June, 2014 in the place of Fr. H. Immanuel Raj, whose term of officewill expire on 31st May, 2014.

Fr. Duming Dias of the Diocese of Shimoga is appointed Associate Director of St. John's Medical College, Bangalore, with effectfrom 1st June, 2014 in the place of Fr. Mathew Kattiyangal, whose termof office expired on 28th February, 2014.
