KUMARAGURU COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY (KCT), Kumaraguru College of Technology is a premier autonomous institution of South India established in 1984 under the auspices of Ramanandha Adigalar Foundation and guiding spirit of Arutselvar Dr. N. Mahalingam, Shakthi group. Under the able guidance and patronage of Dr. B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, Sri. M. Balasubramaniam, Correspondent and our Young Dynamic Joint correspondent Mr. Shankar Vanavarayar, the college has developed excellent facilities and resources such as spacious classrooms, seminar halls, well equipped laboratories, workshops, well stocked library, high-speed broadband connectivity and well qualified faculty. Currently the institution has 16 academic and 9 research centres offering 13 UG courses, 14 PG courses and doctoral programs in various disciplines of engineering and technology. The college is ISO 9001 certified and accredited by NBA and NAAC.

DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGYThe Department of Biotechnology was established in the year 2002 with an objective to transform the students into innovative, competent and high quality professionals to meet the growing global changes in industry and research. The department has a team of well qualified, highly experienced and dedicated faculty members with industrial and research background. The Department has taken an initiative in manpower development in Biotechnology and B.Tech. (Biotechnology) course. M.Tech. (Biotechnology) was established in 2007 to cater the needs of industry and research. It provides excellent academic related services to the students.

Ideas in the thrust areas of the conference focusing on the solutions for the nutritional and environmental issues on child and adolescent growth in the society are invited from students, doctors, research scholars and faculty for paper presentations (only). The ideas are expected to highlight awareness or technology related to the field. Selected ideas will be implemented in the awareness campaign.

ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION Association of Biotechnologists is a creative portal and a motivating dais where the students of the department can independently give shape to their positive innovation and ceaseless enthusiasm. The association enables the active participation of students in workshops and seminars where the organizing and technical skills are sharpened. The association activities are centered around exploring possibilities in the arena of opportunities in the core field equipping knowledge by quality higher education, entrepreneurship potential, creative research and beyond through real time interaction with our seniors and experts from the field. Thus the association strives to create awareness of self, nature and technology through intellectual interaction and the continuing quest for purposeful innovation.

Environment and nutrition together examines the public health impacts of socio-economic and environmental factors related to the entire food system. Traditional nutrition, on the other hand, is defined simply as “the intake of food, considered in relation to the body’s dietary needs.” Therefore, it is a useful tool for critically analyzing the wide-reaching environmental, social, and health impacts of industrial agriculture. This approach shifts the focus from personal responsibility for having a healthy diet and for creating a sustainable food system.This conference provides essential information on how environmental conservaion can help for a sustainable growth, enhance the knowledge and to work on some global concepts. Keeping in mind, the importance of the subject the Association of Biotechnologists, Department of Biotechnology at KCT has decided to conduct the conference on this theme. The overall objective of the conference is to bring researchers, academicians and doctors together to share their knowledge among all the budding researchers and students.
