Hope in WIT
According to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, 46% of new
tech positions have been awarded to women since the
start of 2013.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate for all tech
professionals was 3.5% in the first quarter, compared to 7.7%
for the overall U.S. workforce.
Unemployment specifics in IT, including Web developers
(1%), network architects (1.7%), software developers (2.2%)
and database administrators (2.8%).

Future WIT, Rethinking Girls Toys
How impactful are toys to children’s development, especially for girls?
Interestingly, toys that traditionally are viewed as male oriented,
(construction toys and toy vehicles, for example) elicited the highest
quality play among girls.
Google’s Summer of Code, 2014

Girls in the programs are referred to as “Systers”…
