Hip HopHip hop originally started on the streets. In has a variety of different urban styles. The main styles of hip hop is breaking, popping, and locking.

Barry YoungbloodBarry Youngblood is a hip hop master that has been teaching all across America. He has worked with many famous stars such as: Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilara, Pink, etc.

Hip Hop HistoryHip Hop started around sometime in the 1970’s. Hip hop came from the streets and that is where people did it. Breaking, popping and locking became popular in the 1980’s.

Musical TheatreMusical Theatre comes from show tunes music and dancing, or singing and dancing. Many movies and musicals have this type of dance in them.

Agnes de MilleAgnes de Mille was born in New York City in 1905. She had great success on Broadway with singing, dancing, and acting. She choreographed many dances throughout her career.

JazzJazz dancing has a wide variety of different moves and styles. The most famous jazz move is probably “jazz hands”. It became very popular in the 50’s.

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson, also known as “The King of Pop” is a very well known singer, dancer, and choreographer. He won many Grammys and sold many hit records.

Jazz History Jazz developed in the 1900’s in New Orleans. Ballet choreographers started experimenting jazz. After that, jazz dance blew up all over America.

LyricalLyrical is a big bundle of ballet, jazz, and contemporary. It expresses feeling. In this type if dance, you dance more to the lyrics of the song, rather than the beats of the music.

Lyrical HistoryLyrical hasn’t been around for a long time like many other types of dance. Lyrical continues to gain popularity and is introduced to many dancers across the globe.

Tap DanceTap dancing has been a tradition for a long time.Tap shoes have a piece of metal on the toe and heel area to add the loud sound effect.

Savion GloverSavion Glover is a Broadway star. He is a tap dancer, actor, and choreographer. He has been in many big shows, such as: “The Tap Dance Kid”, “Black and Blue”, etc.

Tap Dance HistoryTap dance started in the mid- 1800’s. Tap started to be featured in Broadway. Popular dancers began to do this type of dance as it became famous.
