A few notes before we begin:
• In these instructions you’ll find the instructions the complete all pages of the minibook in order start to finish. In class we won’t complete it in that order.
• I suggest you prepare your patterned papers by removing and retaining the id strip (it has a pattered back which we’ll use later) and cutting each sheet into quarters (four 6x6 squares).
• Take the minibook out of its packet, and number the centre of each page lightly in pencil (start with cover then 1-10) DO NOT write on the back!
• Save ALL your scraps until the end of the project. You never know what might be useful. (I tend to use strange shaped off cuts again.)
• Some pages have tags that slip in behind them. For this reason adhere papers with a strip of double sided tape top and bottom only or the tag won’t have anywhere to go.
• All measurements are approx or by eye!
• If using a brand of paper without coloured ID strips, you should still have just enough paper.
Before starting the minibook proper there is a 6x6 paper we’ll prepare together.
• Cut out the template for the brackets shape. • Draw around it on the purple circles. (front of sheet 2) • Carefully cut out both sides of the frame with a craft knife. (You’ll need all 3 bits later.)

Cover
• Cover the cover using one quarter of the blue flowers (paper 1 front). There is enough paper for you to cover completely if you wish.
• ½” wide strip of the stripes (front paper 4)
• Add white pen lines and adhere. • Title in brown cardstock if wished.

• Cover using lined paper (paper 3 back).
• Using the Hello Kitty ribbon die, cut a wavy ribbon from the ID strip of paper 2. SAVE the edges!
• Cut heart from scrap of purple circle paper (sheet 2 front)
• White pen lines and adhere.
Flip 1-2 (see pix above and below!)
• Cut 2x6” strips of stripes (sheet 4 front) and lined paper (sheet 3 back). Note orientation of lines/stripes!
• Using Hello kitty Ribbon die, cut a circles ribbon from the ID strip of paper 1. Trim it to 6”. Save the rest!
• Assemble with the ribbon strip sandwiched between the other two, with half sticking out.
• Punch out a heart. Save it! • White pen lines.

• Cut 2 strips of purple circle paper (paper 2 front) approx 2x1 ¾“.
• Using the Hello Kitty ribbon die, cut a wavy ribbon from blue paper 2 reverse. There may be enough left of the ID strip.
• Tie on ribbon • White pen lines and Adhere with photo trimmed to 5¾x4”.

• Cut a page sized piece (6x5¾”) from cream ferns (sheet 4 back).
• Cut 3x6” from (sheet 1 front). • Use to assemble pocket around page sized paper.
• Using the Hello Kitty ribbon die, cut a wavy ribbon from the ID strip of paper 3.
• White lines and adhere. • Tags made after finishing book using offcuts.
Flip 3-4 (see pix above and below)
• Use the outside of the bracket template again to cut a 6x4” bracket shape from red spots/lined paper (paper 3). Note line orientation.

• Cut 6x5” from the stripes (paper 4 front)
• Using Hello kitty Ribbon die, cut a circles ribbon from green (paper 1 back).
• Cut circles ribbon in half along it’s length
• White lines and adhere as shown.

• Cover the page 6x5¾” using stripes (paper 4 front)
• Adhere centre part from pre prepared blue bracket shape.
• Add off cut strip of green (paper 1 back) and ribbon
• White lines

Flip 5-6 (see pix above and below)
• Using template cut a half circle from brown card stock and one from green (back paper 1).
• Staple ribbons to the back of the brown card stock at intervals as shown.
• Adhere green cardstock to cover staple backs • Punch holes, White lines.

• ADHERE ONLY TOP AND BOTTOM to allow space for tag

• Adhere photo to brown cardstock to cover staples.

• Crop photos same to the same size as each other
• Attach any embellishment with staples. (blue strip is leftover edge from hello kitty wavy ribbon on border strip.)
• Adhere back to back TOP and BOTTOM ONLY to allow space for tag.
• Make tab from offcuts. Page 8
• Cover page using green (back paper 1) 6x6”
• ADHERE ONLY TOP AND BOTTOM to allow space for tag
• Tie on ribbon and attach pre prepared bracket frame.
• White lines

• Adhere photo to brown cardstock to cover staples.

• Cut 5x3” from paper 3. • Punch holes • Attach blue leftover edge from hello kitty wavy ribbon on border strip and heart retained from flip 1-2.
• Thread ribbon through hole and tie around whole tag • Tie extra ribbon scrap to ribbon at back • White lines both sides

• White lines and sign and date your book!
Assemble book
• Label the tabs if you haven’t already, and add hearts hand cut from scraps. There is also a sizzix die for teeny hearts stars etc
• Assemble the pages in order using the book rings
• Tie ribbons onto the book rings • Sit back and congratulate yourself on a job well done.
